Looking to purchase a short bus
Been looking for several months. Live in Central Ohio. Been looking through Craigs List, Facebook Marketplace. Plenty of short buses out there, mostly cutaway's. I'm looking for a short bus, around 20', about six windows, maybe 8 windows. Would love a wheelchair lift, but not a deal breaker. Any ideas where I can find what I'm looking for?

Watch public surplus, govdeals and 422 auction sites. Those are 3 of the most popular places.
I think Macalister in Indianapolis and Kerlin Bus in Silver Lake both have a fair number of shorties on their lot at any given time. Be prepared for rust though.

welcome fellow Buckeye!!! shorties pop up on the auctions... you'll likely need to travel a bit to get as rust free one..

all auction sites you can search for busses.. again you may want to travel to a southern state (florida sucks) to get a good rust free unit...
if you prefer a deaslership vs the auction.. (you;ll pay more).. the Mccalisters in indanapolis tends to get some decent buses and their prices are more fair than others..
im in the C-bus so if you want to meet up just to be around busses and check them out, tacke measurements, get ideas.. i have 2 Shorties of my own (one 7 window and one 6 window), one is a factory high ceiling and other is a factory standard-height ceiling...

Hopefully you're not looking at CL and FBMP locally. Most stuff from that 1/4 of the country is not worth dealing with due to rust issues. Budget some money to travel for a good bus, it will yeild dividends in the long run.

A worthy quest indeed! I am looking for something similar, though a little shorter than you. I made the mistake of buying a bus in Iowa (CL) and the rust has made the project unworkable (due to structural rust on the frame).
Also, do you mean 20' behind the drivers seat? It seems to me that most 6-8 window buses are at least 23' (and probably longer). I have a 5 window bus with an extra little bit on the back and it is 23' bumper to bumper.
Good luck!!

Was this the lot down in San Diego? I've been talking to them- apparently they will be getting in some more 5-6 window e450s of different style in the next couple weeks.

I believe is was somewhere in So-cal area they seemed to have a steady supply.
Batman I saw them on Craigslist. I nearly snagged one from them.
I got my bus from a diesel dealership in Gig Harbor WA. Grandview Auto. I've seen shorties pop up on their website from time to time since.

If you find a good one in the southeast and you don't get it, let me know. (short bus or short shuttle bus).
