Lots of Potential 1939 REO Speedwagon

I like this thing for some reason, if the price were reasonable, I'd be in.

Wonder how hard it would be to fit a 5.9 Cummins in there.

They smoked waaaay too much wacky tabaccy after leaving Woodstock! $6,500 for dat???

Plus transporting it. It is cool in an antique sort of way, but it'll be on there awhile at that price...

Was this thread double-posted? I clearly remember posting to this thread, but it's not showing... Anyway...

Let me get this straight. No title, no engine, no trans, missing body panels, frame likely rusted as it's obviously been sitting for years. $6,500? I can buy a more modern one, bigger, running, with a title for less right now. Cool, yes, but that is way too much money.

You can buy a running/driving motorcoach for that amount right now.

Charter bus companies are dumping all their fleets right now. A lot of the smaller outfits in my area have already gone bust.

sold it today

Thanks for interest in the 39 Ransom Eli Oldsmobile bus that was at Woodstock
New York 50 some years ago.
Sold it today to an investment company in New York and theyare sending it to a local shop to put the body on a newer frame .
There is a local shop here where I live that is doing old buses including double deckers that are hitting the streets where you probably live if you are in New York ,Atlanta, etc.
Some fellows from M.a. were here yesterday picking up a west coast VW bus from me and I got them in to look at quite a few 30'sto 50's buses all getting major work to be back on the road.

Better than seeing it rust away even further, where it was.

Hopefully the "investment company", or the body shop it's headed to, will post pics of it's restoration/restomod efforts...

I posted in the first thread about this bus that it would be a cool restoration project and got roasted for suggesting such heresy. The consensus seemed to be the buyer must leave it as is, I guess just to let it continue to rust away. Now it's going to be frankenstein'd onto a new frame?! Sheesh!

Who is doing all that work for you? Sounds mighty interesting, I’ve got a studebaker zip van that needs some attention.
