You may be the lord god of Gilligs. You may be an awesome dude. However, IMO your activity here is suspect and makes you appear sketchy... In the 12 years you have been a forum member, is there any other forum member with whom you have done business? And why is there a 12 year span with no posts and now you are back?

It's pretty easy to post pics here... How about some pics of your "...two complete Phantoms with all parts available..."?

Or how about 'Yes Rick, I have the wiring diagrams you seek, here's a pic of them. I can send you a copy for $XX'...
I'm not asking you to like me, and I do not care if you think I am credible

If you want to do business, please be polite. I do not need more business/sales right now, I have my hands full. If you cannot be civil, I won't respond.

I am sorry gentleman. I am new to Skoolie forum. I do not know all the social do's and dont's yet.

I have lots of bus parts, and experience. Mostly on Gilligs and Crowns. I do not know, nor work on most other more expensive brands. I also do NOT have parts for MCI's or any siversided buses.

I was just trying to offer what I had. I will try to do better. Any useful comments on how to do this are appreciated.

I mentioned that he was "spamming" the board, but I don't really see any evidence of attempted scamming. With 53 years wrenching, the dude is in his 70s. In *another thread (?) he mentions just getting a new cell phone, and suggests using his land line till he gets the cell figured out. He also mentioned my friend Al Jennings selling Crowns and Gilligs, and directs you to find a facebook page (that I used to follow). Al is indeed the admin of that page, and reconditions and sells Crowns and Gilligs.
I still see Patrick's actions here as spamming, but also, I don't imagine that he's tech savvy, and just doing what can to earn a living. I don't doubt that he exists as a real person, or that he has decades of experience, or a yard full of buses and parts. It would be pretty easy for me to find out, as I also live in Fresno. He just doesn't have anything that interests me.
I am 63. And I may have been off in years turning wrenches by 3 years. I started on quarter midgets with A.B., Russ and Steve Ramsey here in Fresno when I was in the 8th grade. They were experienced, I was not.

A.B. is (was) a master mechanic, his sons (and my friends) Russ and Steve later went on to race micro midgets or half midgets, it's been many years and I am not sure.

I definitely posted in/on many pages. I wanted to offer what I had, and be finished with it.

If you find something what I wrote to be against the written, or unwritten code on this page, tell the webmaster so he can give me advice.

I'm not here to offend or bother anyone. And I do know a lot about machinery in general, but that's just how my life has taken me. My grandpa was a mechanic, my Dad was too, it just turned out that way for me.

I'm a school teacher actually (Govt. History, Spanish and ESL) and only learned heavy trucks & buses from 1988 forward as I was using Ford duallies, later Crowns and Gilligs as haul trucks into Central America.

I also drove an IHC 2000D for Uncle Sam when I was a much younger man. Also deuce and a half/M35A2 trucks for 53rd Trans Bn.

Sincerely,

Patrick Young

How do you post pictures here, if you do not have a URL to offer?

I'm buying a 1964 Chrysler Imperial Crown today. Only 15,000 original miles. IT IS NOT FOR SALE, Thank you. I'd like to share my find. I assume the folks here appreciate vintage machinery.
I could also use a parts source. I need a passenger side fender mounted rear view mirror, and plastic parts for the ends of the seats. Any help would be appreciated.

Sincerely

Patrick Young

I do NOT do this for a living, I do it for fun. I have a paid off house, three fine cars (1991 Olds 88 I just drove 700 trouble free miles in, handed down from Grandpa to Dad to me, a 1991 Mazda B2200, and a 1978 Ford F250) and a comfortable retirement from Fresno Unified School District. I do not need any more money, I have plenty for my wife, son and me.

No I do NOT know how to use my cel phone. I just got it last week. I cannot do anything but call on it, and receive calls. I use a digital Canon camera for my pictures. I do not know how to make movies on either device, but I need to.

I am quite sick, my liver is failing. I am too old to get on any transplant lists. My 9 year old son is not aware of how sick I am.

I have no idea why people on this site are so quick to criticize. But I am often misunderstood. I'm used to it, so I would assume I just did something inadvertently to make someone(s)upset. Not my intention.

I thought I was offering something great to the folks here, a source of parts and advice.

If you all would prefer I no longer post, that's A-OK with me. I work 7 happy days a week anyways, about 16 hours plus. I have a new 1964 Chrysler Imperial to play with, and do not need any negative vibes in my life. My sister died 10 days ago and my plate is already full.

Hey Patrick,

One forum rule that you may have missed. If you buy a cool new bus, you cannot just tell us about it, you MUST post pictures

As far as the initial reaction to your posts, we have had enough spammers show up here that some members are a little sensitive to it. Your first posts had a similar appearance to the spammers. Your participation in the forums apart from just for sale ads sets you apart from the spammers.

Having a good resource for Crown and Gillig buses is definitely a good thing.

Now show us some Crown porn

I have a Samsung Galaxy cel phone. Is there anyway to regulate who calls you so your "mailbox" or whatever does not get full? I have no idea for about 30% of the calls I receive daily. I already regret getting one, except for the Google search function.

I am going to Triple AAA this morning and get some maps. We were absolutely jammed up in angry traffic yesterday on Hwy 99 near Merced, CA. I took surface roads home, no one in town could even recall how to do it, so I just used common sense and my childhood memories of growing up in the San Joaquin Valley.

The freeways are impassable in Central California during work hours, one fender bender and you are crawling for hours. Air is awful, brownish and stagnant. I would HATE to be a trucker nowadays.

^^ In a nutshell ^^

Patrick, your initial 3-4 posts, all the same or similar and hawking your wares, seems spam-ish. Now that you're fully participating, you'll fit right in.

As for posting pics, I'm pretty sure you need a URL from some other web page. I actually use Facebook for a web-host. Like this one...

I'm also 63 and from Fresnope, and my wife teaches. Where did you go to school, and teach?

I do not know how to add pictures on Skoolie Net. None of the options above this text box allow me to do so in a manner that works everywhere else.

I could try offering my FaceBook Page???

Hey Philip. I taught at Rooosevelt for 2 years, then Fresno High, then Southeast Middle School, Yosemite Middle school, and ended my career at Fresno High. This has been a Very Unpleasant experience so far on Skoolie Net. I have no idea why people are so automatically suspicious and ready to disparage another human being without any investigation or attempt to find out what it going on.

Patrick, I too, am not happy with the direction this thread has taken. Some of the comments directed to you have IMO been harsh, but I would ask that you reread my posts and tell me where I was impolite and/or uncivil.

I asked you about a couple specific "Gillig needs" that I had. Reread your response to me; can you not see how it could come across as a sales pitch?

This is why I stated that your "...sales pitch repeated across several threads here does not lend to your credibility" and "...your activity here is suspect and makes you appear sketchy".

The internet is full of scammers, and sometimes it can be difficult to tell who the good guys from the bad.

This is why I was happy to see a post in another thread from a fellow forum member who knows you (Alan N). I posted the below to this thread and I asked Alan N about his interaction with you.

"Well, evidently someone on the forum knows Patrick. I saw this post after I wrote the post above... I was hoping Patrick or Alan N would have posted overnight to help clear this up."

I have no reason to dislike you and do not dislike you. Credibility is important everywhere, especially on the internet. And for someone who doesn't need more business and has his hands full, you wrote many recent posts soliciting for business.
