Mechanical Engine, Full Size Bus Wanted (Oregon)

I live in Oregon, but am willing to drive to surrounding states, Washington, California, Idaho, or Montana to view and purchase the bus. I am looking for a full size bus in good condition with a mechanical engine, and preferably air brakes. My price limit is $15,000 dollars.

8.3 or 6bt? as they aren't the same thing.

The engine comes with the bus. I'm not taking it out and giving him the shell. Unless I truly missed something, I don't know what you are saying.

And why do you need to be so rude? You could private message someone and educate them. But instead you leave Karen messages. Does that make you feel good? Do you really have so much time on your hands that you just have to turn your hands into guns online? Has someone hurt you and therefore you feel the need to hurt others to make yourself feel good?

Just move on if you don't have the love in your heart to help educate. There is no reason to leave that message. This is what is wrong with the world. YOU!!!

Definitely your opinion, and you have every right to be wrong.

Every make and model of any vehicle in the world has bad apples. Ferrari's catch on fire. Celebrities commit suicide, the majority of white people are not racist in even an ounce of their being, and on and on. So stop attaching one wrong to the whole effin group.

So to throw every bus under the bus, because of a bad bus, well that's pretty ignorant and uneducated.

That's your opinion, AND NOT A SINGLE PERSON ASKED FOR IT. . So take your trolling and move on. DO YOU JUST SEARCH FORUMS TO FIGHT?

well sooorrry! that I work on a lot of engines and I know people who run shops and they see many of these broken Maxxforce engines every week... maybe less now since so many of them are broken for good now.. I just aim to educate people on good and bad.. that Maxxforce DT is probably fine for someone with a decent size wallet and good mechanical skills, they can make it run 500k and it will make plenty of power doing it.. but for the average skoolie here that has no idea what they are buying, I dont recommend any MaxxForce engines.. esp when there are much better options out there for the laymen that are 85% of who come here...

yes there are people with extraordinary mechanical skills here, they display their wisdom and excellence in their builds... I aim to not get another phone call from someone ("my engine is smoking and overheating") only to find another $2000 EGR cooler set blown...

sop no im not trolling.. im speaking from experience (a buddy and I junked a Maxxforce DT 2009 ourselves this past january because it was beyond reasonable repair.. fortunately the bus ran a year and was on the Cheap to buy so the computers, A/C Parts, Tires and scrap metal for it made up the difference.. it also wasnt converted so no ones hard earned time and money had gone into converting said bus only to blow the engine... ..

your Maxxforcer might be fine.. but for the Tall price you are asking, a Clean bill of health from an IH dealership would be something to include with said bus.. would go a long way toward reassuring someone your Maxxforce is in Top health and ready to take someone on their dream journey..

We are very intrigued with your 2009 mechanical.
Please, do tell:
.
* How much chrome?
* Or does it work pretty swell on unleaded diesel?
* Or does it require the 'up-graded' #2 gasoline?
* Or can you add those mesquite 'chips' to the intake to increase the smoke?
* Or should we 'go over-size' with mag rims for the full effect?
* Or can you put side-pipes on it before you deliver... adding to the full effect?
* Or do you think twin dual CB 'whips' will definitely be a 'must-have for the full effect'?
* Or should we go with a 'hydolic' kit for 'hopping' competitions for the full effect?
.
And our last q (for now, lol!):
* Or does your 2009 mechanical come with the Preferred Platinum Package... authorized authentic simulated wood-style steering-wheel, pleather-style wrapped shifter, etcetera etcetera etcetera?
.
sincerely,
the LM community

I wish I had a 8.3 cummims 6BT.
But I got scared off after I read somewheres they only work in the Portland 'energy-vortex'.
.
Is that true?
(I mean, the part about me getting scared off.
Not the part about me reading.)

Apparently, although I realize this may come as a shock to some, we inadvertently managed to get it right the first time.
Improbable strikes again!

You might notice over on the left of every comment the details about the user who posted it. In cadillackid's case, take especial note that he's been here for 13 years and has left over 16K comments (vs. your 6 so far). If he's a troll he's a darn tenacious one.

You'll probably have a lot more luck selling your MaxxForce bus somewhere other than this site.

Do you actually not recommend the 8.3 cummins engine? Some buses I'm looking at have those engines...

You need to be patient until the old timers settle down. Miahbrown set them off.

From everything I've read the 8.3 is a good engine but it's not a 6bt.

Thanks for the info. Who knew this thread would've gotten so heated. All I was doing was looking for a bus lol

As soon as I saw 'Maxxforce' engine and $16,000 I figured it would get 'fun'.
