There was a '59 GMC Viking/Apache style short(er) bus posted here a few months back. The seller was asking $15k, and when I expressed interest several people chimed in saying it wasn't worth the 15k asking price. I was just trying to get a conversation started with the guy, and was prepared to pay $10k tops.
The d00d posted it on craigslist saturday for $10k, and I texted him right away and set up an appointment to go see it
next saturady. I got a text from him last night saying that he has sold it for the asking price
Why am I obsessed with a '55-59 GM? Simple. It's like a Mr. Potato Head. Drivetrain parts are interchangeable, cheap, and can almost be found at 7-11 or Walmart.
Maybe the next one I spot won't be a thousand miles away.
