Ah, a Gerstenlager, and a really nice and unusual size, too. This would be great for racking up serious miles, from the national parks where it is under the 25 foot max permitted length, to urban environments where that tight wheelbase would be ideal.

Great truck...

Post motor-coach past and future

24 foot 6 inches long and it runs on Propane
good economy as it is a 6 cylinder inline twin carb with the 6 speed Alison automatic with 3:76 gear ratio
maybe more people should have studied the automatic transmission back then 1970
almost all auto's back then were either a 2 speed or sometimes 3 speed
The cool part is with the generator also being propane you could live in this just the way it came
I have had 2 other bookmobiles from this manufacturer this past month and they had the 545 cubic inch international with 3 speed Alison auto
Very hard on fuel
with it's 12 foot wheelbase it turns around on a city street

Is it the MT 40 Allison? That was used back then on gassers. I had one in my bus.

Biggest issue with propane is filling stations are not nearly as common.

I will check the model number on the transmission when I change oil and rotate tires this week
Around where we go there are filling stations everywhere you can buy gasoline and diesel
Camping is so popular every one has propane filling also
i guess I have not been anywhere past 20 years where you can not get propane

The price is something I will discuss with a serious buyer on the telephone as most vehicles i sell are to people who are going to sell them again85%

I would like to have enough money to switch it to a Cummins ford Propane v-10 that there are a lot of new engines available and some Chevrolet Cummins propane LS and Lt as we live in Minnesota where they make Schwanns ice Cream trucks

sugar

I wish it was sand
but it keeps our nice vehicles parked in the winter
so after years of owning them they have a lot less miles on them compared to the better weather states where they get that extra 4 months winter driving
Imagine 23,000 on a 72 Gerstenslager 96,000 on a old Suburban
and 112,000 on a 60 Cpe Deville

The only reason I can see for not listing a price is you're asking crazy money for it and don't want any feedback...I could be wrong, and I apologize if I am, but why not list a price if you're serious about selling it???

It is a cool looking rig, and should bring good money if the market bears it out. Being propane powered would not be a selling point in the northeast as there are not many propane pumping stations here. There are Blue Rhino's to exchange 20# BBQ tanks at in most bigger urban areas, but no fill at will propane at the local Mobil, Shell, Hess, etc.

Lastly, remember where you are Steve, we're not all "flippers" on here!

call for pricing

I will make a call to the interested buyer who left me a telephone number during early evening hours
We work every day and race so my time to look back at sites is about 30 minutes a week.
The idea of posting any price is the only way I put up an ad.

I do think it is good not to advertise a price as I stated 85% of what I have sold is to a flipper who wants to resell the vehicle.
I have had 5 responses on a telephone and they all stated they plan on reselling the motor-coach
I use a telephone and get and call people all day and into the night,it works for me.

As I think of something that might interest people that view this site;Prsident Joe Biden will more than likely enact the California C>A>R>B> act that will disable most older vehicles on the road.
A way to keep your vehicle Grandfathered in is to keep it registered.
Here in Minnesota our governor is working to enact that now.
Remember Cars for Clunkers:Obama/Biden it took millions of vehicles off the road and this will happen again starting this year.
If you let the registration lapse you are no longer Grand-Fathered into the strict CARB rules.
their are many sites [16]drive in,in New Hampshire to fuel or they may bring the propane to you,if you have a propane distributer they fill vehicles also.
Check online for Propane for vehicle sites in any area in the USA and Canada

I agree with others. Just like your time is valuable you might expect our time is valuable as well. You can hype the positivity of propane all you like but it's not a positive in my book.

But listing a ball park of what you want to sell this rig for would be smart. I understand you have your way of doing things as do we all. This is about the first time I've seen something attempted to be sold here where the price does not accompany the listing. There's a dream a day in the kingdom we all just keep moving on.

I have grown very fond of the fire machinery/Rescue genre and here are a couple of mine.
