Smile New engine - move-in ready rv school bus: Short, spacious, cabin-style

Are you a regular camping and festival enthusiast interested in a more cozy home away from home while living on the road? Do you gravitate toward minimalism and modesty? Might you also be interested in Airbnb guests paying for all your seasonal travel expenses? If you answered yes to any other these, keep reading - we think this rig might be the one you're looking for. Plus! We'll drive it to you - see below!

This fully-loaded, 20ft ball of joy is your opportunity to cruise into the summer set up to enjoy your favorite bands, artists, neighborhoods, cities, campsites, and open roads that connect the most meaningful moments of your life. And while you're not on the road, rent it out! Airbnb Experiences are booming and this can definitely one!

We designed and created this skoolie with wanderlust, comfort, and adventure on our minds and are both happy and sad to offer it to a new fun-loving crew. We called it home for much of 2018 and made our way from border to border and coast to cost. The BRAND NEW ENGINE beckons for more and the V8 at its core guarantees you'll make it there with all your beloved people, pets, and provisions.

Forget Sprinter vans! Forget Airstreams! Forget Winnebagos! Those have no fun on the road, they feel so cramped, and they have no creativity! If you're creative, embrace it! This bus has a more roomy feel and will turn more heads. For the two of us and our 45 lb. dog, this tiny home was more than enough and will be the right fit for you! Plus, Sprinter vans, etc. are wayyyyy more expensive than they are worth. And the point of this lifestyle is to enjoy minimalism! IT'S OK THAT THIS BUS DOEN'T HAVE ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. IT'S OK THAT IT'S NOT SHINY AND NEW. AGAIN, THAT'S THE POINT! MINIMALISM IS INTENTIONAL! Reuse before buying new! This move-in ready converted bus is yours for loving.

Thinking about a bigger bus? Anything over 20ft is a pain to park and costs more everywhere! THIS IS NOT A LARGE VEHICLE! Take it to the grocery store! Take it to a drive-in movie (trust us, we did it)! Drive it with ease!

Interested in selling goods or services as you travel? The unforgettable finishes of the interior are easy talking points and attractive to passersby. Plus, there is a lot of usable surface areas to set up product demos. The second captain's seat can be easily removed for creating more space in the interior!

Insulation is not mentioned at all. $25-$33K is lot of money for no insulation.

Thanks for pointing that out! The bus has 2" XPS foam insulation under the floor, on the walls, and under the ceiling.

We used the same post for our eBay page and as that is a more diverse audience, we felt the need to sales it up a bit. Sorry that our decision annoyed you.

I’d honestly like to say that I do really like your conversion. My question is why do you feel that your time invested is worth $14-23k? Your budget was $10k and you might have not even used it all. To ask $33,400 for a short bus is nutz in my opinion. Are you trying to make a $23,000 profit?

In all fairness, the lowball figure quoted is $24K. And if you don't ask for the big dollah, you certainly won't get the boucoup bucks!
It seems still on the steep side, but you're playing a tough room here. Most members aren't afraid to pour sweat, blood, and tears, and tear our knuckles, foreheads, and clothing, all in the process of making our vision come into focus.
Good luck, guys. May you find someone with LOTSA liquid assets, who is only challenged vertically...

Personally I thought the sales pitch was brilliant. I would guess someone is either in marketing or real estate with a listing like that. HazMatt1960 is right though that this isn't the right group to expect to make a profit selling a conversion but that's not to say you shouldn't try to get as much as you can for your build and the pitch seems on-target for that purpose.

No, it was a good pitch: thorough, creative, amusing.
Just that it is better suited for FleaBay modalities, not so much so for Skoolie sensibilities.
Hell, I'd C&P it here too, after the obvious effort that went into the listing.

Thanks for the question and compliment! We'd love to share the price breakdown: We invested around $19,300 getting the bus travel ready: $10,000 went to living space equipment and modifications (solar panels, batteries, framing, refridgerator, finishes, weatherproofing, insulation, sink, emergency toilet, passenger seat, custom furniture, electrical hardware and finishes, and safety features like locks and doorknobs), $6,500 was spent on a brand new engine, $1,600 for new brakes, and $1,200 for 6 new tires. That totals $19,300. We priced it higher because we feel it's worth that much. And we are willing to accept offers starting at $24k.

Hope this answers your question. If you feel something needs more clarification or have any additional questions, feel free to ask.

Nope. No AC. Best for mild climates. See other posts for how we reached that price.

Wise words. And yes, I know that labor of love. You forgot to mention the pains of stupidly ordering hundreds of dollars in non-returnable, incorrect parts. Much appreciated

You're quite welcome.
And... Well, no... I didn't forget.
As the (very) moderately amusing slogan admonishes it's reader, " Thimk!"

But, unless you're a mega-corp, it is unconscionable to pass the costs of one's ill-considered mistakes on to the end consumer. Excepting a rare few countries in the EU, education ain't free, or even remotely cheap.
R&D is one thing, but said program is sketched out thru several iterations before a scale model is considered to be constructed.
Then again: ehh! WTF, why not? It sure seems to work well for Bill Gates, Monsanto, et al, ad nauseum...

I do recommend that everyone build their own home at some point. I know where every screw is on that bus and that does feel pretty amazing. But not everyone can afford to spend 6 months building their dream tiny home on wheels like I was able to. It was a frustrating blast getting to know all the ins and outs of the engine, electrical, the science behind the heat transfer/thermodynamics of the living space. The build itself also isn't for everyone. I loved it and I take it you did also. We know there are a TON of folks from all walks of life here on skoolie (because the community truly is amazing) and we are looking more towards those looking for a ready-to-go conversion van. Apologies to any of you who's thrill it is to convert your own!

What is an "ammo box toilet?"?

That is a stoutly built piece of military surplus that one hunkers over when feeling the need to sh1t bullets...
Added benny is that they're completely airtight!
Maybe less a benefit, if not immediately emptied & de-conned...
