No interest in the Virginia Buses?

On Public Surplus, they have a bunch of front engine 466e/545 buses going for $500. So many buses, not enough buyers at one time.

i am looking at the 466 for my bus upgrade but was trying to stay all mechanical.
for that price if i could get the entire bus with everything working then i might think about as a donor for the motor and the computer which i was trying to avoid.
i have the same tranny so a spare and still plan upgrade.
at 500$ each expect them to jump price the day of auction or there is a reserve.
if it stays and you have the skills and the room you could make more money off of selling the parts.
motor 3000$
tranny 1000$
computer 1500 and up depending on the motor HP.
rear end depending on gearing 600 and up.
plus many

They jumped in the last 20 minutes, but most sold for like 1,000 to 2,000 although I did not watch it that closely.

Used AT545s aren't worth much at all. Nobody in my area even bothers selling them anymore since they are glorified paperweights when not actually installed in a good vehicle.

some districts in virgina rag out their busses. . I didnt ask my buddy specifically about those units but word does get around in some circles whether busses are likely to be any good or not..

for instance floirida busses.. theres a reason that our favorite high price bus dealer sells very few form their home state.. they would ratyer spend the travel and fuel to go get busses elsewhere.. so florida busses in auction often go cheap or someties an exporter will buy a bunch for parts..

I was interested but forgot about following the sales. I have also been thinking about a Van instead so I wasn't completely sure.
