I should have named this bus Slow Ride. At least I'm in a 55 mph state.

I don't know anything about this seller. But a 466E and a MD3060. This must be something someone wants since it is fullsize. But if it was a 8 - 10 window I would have already scarfed it up.

I found this in the same website, which is (I think) the online presence of of one of those newsprint freebies you can pick up. If it had a Cummins instead of a Cat, it might be mine!

No, it's real.

They built it for filming the movie Dumb and Dumberer.

Cool 2005 Thomas Bus with Generator and AC

Hey everyone,

First post on here. My wife and I have been lurking for months soaking up the vast amount of knowledge that exists on this site. Anyway, I came across this Thomas that already has 7.5kw Onan Generator and 2 coleman rooftop ac units. Also it's in AZ so that seems like a plus.

2005 Thomas FE

Thank you guys for all the knowledge!

well, i just learned something else. thanks.

i figured since it had lower miles and no rust. Usually there is someone here asking about a bus on craiglist or ebay for 5k.

I just read it and says it is CARB compliant and has a Particulate trap fitted to it.. whether that has caused damage to it or not, or whether it can be removed or not i dont know.. but on the newest busses (08+) thats the systems that fail most.. and thiose are factory designed.. so im leery of a retro-fitted one,,

That's a nice looking bus.

The statement "Bus is equipped with diesel particulate trap and is C.A.R.B. compliant" causes concern.

Christopher; Since this is a '99 retrofitted with carb crap, could that easily be removed, I mean since it was an add on after the fact?

I should mention it does appear to be a nice clean bus.. and it could be something that runs perfect.. Youd have to take the VIN, call navistar and get the rear gear ratio.. it has the smaller tires like mine.. appears to be built with that so you might be lucky and have 3.54 gears which makes for a 65-70 MPH bus...

even has Dashboard and rear A/C..

"Engine has a problem"

Mystery problems are always fun. Otherwise it looks nice but appears to have pretty bad tires.

If you're local to the auction you could try to figure out what the mystery engine problem is. For most of us that will remain a mystery because of distance and risk.
