I bought one bus from onlinepros , they were easy to work with,, sometimes the buyers premium is a bit high.. they only handle districts in texas. they usually mention the details about whether a bus is driveable or not as well.

classic vans are the IN thing right now.. if he could get that cheap and then post it in Hemmings or something, it would be a great flipper for some $$$ even if he didnt use it..

This is much MUCH simpler than anything new.
If I didn't just buy that dodge van I'd be buying this.

total simplicity!!! 302 with a 2 barrel (im guessing)and a C6 transmission.. cant get much simpler and with a ton of parts oiut there in the aftermarket world too.. 302 / C6 is still a hot-rodders favorite drivetrain.. the likes of summit and Jegs.. and even orellly's / autozone stock parts for these..

theres even complet aftermarket A/C kit units made for these..

if you want an eye-catcher and a fun project camping van thats quirky and unusual too.. this is IT!!!

2002 GMC Savana 3500 Turbo Diesel in Vancouver

Hi, my first post so hope I'm doing this right, let me know gently if I'm not. I've been dreaming of a shorty but am not in a position to buy one yet -still I have alerts set up on craigslist and kijiji so I just saw this one posted 8 hours ago in Vancouver - Surrey actually - Oh did I mention I'm from Canada...I rarely see any posts for this country so thought maybe someone would be interested. But here's the thing, I have no idea if this is a good engine but I'm trying to learn what would be a good engine/transmission on a short bus so without further blah blah blah here it is a 2002 GMC Savana 3500 Turbo Diesel 24 passenger school bus - $10998

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/...222435831.html

oh dang, is this the infamous 'orphan engine'?

That ROCKS! I LOVE the Ford 460. Would be a tight fit in a van, but worth it for the radness of big block Ford power!

I had nearly this SAME VAN when I worked HVAC.. it was my first van... SAME SEATS.. and a 460.. that van ran like a striped ape!!!

they had to PRY that van out of my hands to give me a brand new one that I never did like...

this one even appears to have A/C (even though they say ot doesnt work).. looks like it was built with it...
dang.. and I wont be ready for a year.. but sure is tempting to put a bid on it.

74 mightve still had the 500 Cadillac engine... these used the same front cradle and drivetrain as my 76 eldorado cadillac...

TH-425 Transmission (same internal drives as a TH-400 but with the input shaft split with a chain so it could be fromt drive.. motor sits ON TOP of the transmission..

All the GMC motorhomes came with Old's 455 engines, because back then, Cadillac stuff only went in cadillacs , 500 is a common swap though
