the new school busses in Columbus Ohio.. (last few years).. when the yellow flasher button is pressed, then when the bus stops fully, the reds will come on, door open, and spring brakes apply automatically...

Dang, well if I can find a driver and the prices stay reasonable I WANT ONE BAD!
I may just have to force myself to go get one and bring it back, but man I got a ton of work coming in!

Thanks very much Cowlitzcoach!. Crazy but for orphans there seem to be a lot of them (yeah, I get that it's the lack of parts that makes them orphans) being offered for sale in this area the last several months. I do appreciate that confirmation though because I was beginning to think there must be some other factor involved.

I got pre-occupied and missed the closing of these auctions. Seriously kicking myself for it. I was changing out implements on the tractor, and what was supposed be 15 minutes of putting the tractor up, ended up being hours of working on the darn thing. The late bird is a hungry bird no less.

If anybody else finds a bus auction near S. A. OR Austin TX, send me a message!

Incomplete Chassis

What are they referring to in Govtdeals with this statement?
2000 Freightliner FS65 INCOMPLETE CHASSIS, 5.9L L6 DIESEL.

Not really. How many do you see in that condition these days?
Virtually zilch. Well preserved Cali classics are totally worth it, imo.
A paint job and some cleaning and that's a $7500 van all day. Maybe even more.

Freightliner built the chassis, Thomas built the body. Thomas got the chassis as "incomplete". Its just nomenclature that doesn't matter.

DITO, just means it was a medium duty chassis truck, like the majority of buses started out.

I bought one of my busses using that site.. from what I can tell they are truthful about defects on busses.. if not overly conservative.. they rated my bus as 'fair' condition but it was one of the cleanest interiors ive run into..

I'm REAL tempted. In fact I may just put in a silly bid and see if I win.
But I definitely don't have the time to go get it myself!

I'd do it just for the experience. Haven't felt comfortable taking my bus out for a spin yet since its still a "BUS" and not an "RV" (according to the gov't). The state troopers around here might mistake my vehicle for a "commercial vehicle" and fine the living crap out of me since I don't have a CDL.

It is what I do for a living now.

"Just for you" price....
$300 flat rate.
You pay fuel.
Transportation (air & Uber) to the bus and to nearest major airport after delivery.
Provide insurance on it and tags if any needed.

For a comparison of my offer:
The company I work for charges people/dealers around $1.90/mile for delivery of single units.

Man, that's an offer too good to refuse!
I'll definitely hit you up if I end up winning!
