Already sold but what's a van hool worth?
So I don't have room for more than one bus or I may have bid this up a bit. But I'm curious what would something like this be worth. Big Cummins 119k miles I would guess a lot more than the $3500 it went for. I never really considered this type of bus mostly because of price but this one went pretty reasonable. So is this typical or did someone get a once in a lifetime buy?

That link shows the auction doesnt end until 11/29, I'll bet it goes for much more than $3500

... and I think they mean 119k miles on that set of tires.
They have quite a few buses and coaches in this auction, and they are hopeless at answering emails.
I still want that '99 Thomas though and there is a commercial tire dealer just down the road. If I buy the '96, I will have an appointment there the day I collect it.

The odometer shows 119k on the van hool maybe an odo change happened.
The 99 looks like a great bus I have a 95 basically the same as these but with AC and less gears. I had a FE and bought my current bus for the drivetrain and fell in love on the way home. The view is amazing through that big windshield.

So this just happened:
https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...=2&acctid=7190
Had it been on my doorstep, I would have bought it.
$2000 for an in-frame and you just got an awesome bus, with a new engine, for $2800

ill bet you have to add another 500 - 1000 to that to get the buis towed to your place of repairs.. if you drive on a bad head gasket you run the risk of spinning a bearing and that ruins the block or the crank usually...

Someone new was looking for a medium size bus.
2002 Thomas Transit 24-36 passenger with Wheelchair Lift Excellent Running, aprx 150k, just taken out of service.
The links don't seem to work right so just look under "B" for buses.

With the miles on these I would deal with some rust...

As rusty as my van from Nebraska is, I'd be real careful buying bus from there.
Its its rusty on the body, everything underneath is likely worse. Check the frame, floors, and all that really thoroughly for rot.

Yeah 98-2003 were supposed to be the best, and that was the last generation of them. I like mine a lot, just wish it had less rust underneath. For what I bought it to do its amazing.
I like mine, but I've gotta put a water pump on it now!

The 99 looked mostly rust free and went for 3,600. The 96 had some cancer issues hard to tell without getting underneath it. My Thomas from Kansas was coated underneath preserving most everything besides the bottom of the radiator and the power steering lines

3600 should get you a RUST FREE bus.
I only bought the rusty van because it was cheap and has super low mileage. 45k on the odometer, with records!
