There are a passel of 9 window mid size buses out here in Oregon for sale on the 23rd and 24th of this month. Just a couple days left. Looking cheap so far.
Washington state has a bunch of the 4 and 5 window cutaways, mostly Fords. About half seem to need headgaskets.

I was specifically looking for midsize buses with handicap lifts, since I want that big door for loading motorcycles (my roadglide is fat pig). That district in beaveton had several Thomas buses that fit that, but they appear to all have a Diesel Particulate filter. PROBABLY removable since I think I think it was an add on rather than built into the ECU for active regen, but some muffler shops may not want to touch it, since it feels weird to be pulling emission stuff, so it seems simpler to just remove those from my list.
So that leaves the TC1000, which actually was what I was targeting as an example of what I wanted, but of the 4 of those, 2 of them have issues which I will not have time to solve before leaving, and that only leaves 2 buses for me to bid on. So if those two stay below $3k, it will suck for me, because the guy who didn't pay for them bid me up well above what the next lower bidder was at. I wonder if I can complain to publicsurplus about being bid up by a nonpaying bidder, I doubt they care though.

You do realize a Road Hog is way too big to fit on a wheelchair lift without extensively modifying the lift.

Do have to register to bid to see auction price or am I missing it? I registered for site but not to bid

The ones I’ve seen do it remove the wheelchair lift and make a ramp door where the WC door is.

No, not to see a bid, if there is one. All of Richie Bros. auctions under $10k are live auctions. You have to pay attention there. The ones I am looking at say the auction is between Mon-Sat., and then under that it says (day 5 of 6). What that is saying is it's a 6 day auction, but this item will sell on the 5th day (Thurs.). Once you register to the site you then have to register to bid and leave a CC deposit of 25% of your bid. It doesn't show bids now because it will be a live auction you will need to log in at auction time and bid when the bidding starts.

Goootcha. I saw some on there showing prices, just didn't notice the live auction part.
On a different note, anyone have experience with the rust one could expect from a bus out of missouri? Been watching one I found that I really like, just worried about rust and can't get any pics of it

That's not what his plan is. I was going to have double doors in the back with a widened ramp system to accommodate ATV's and a WC lift. But then realized the WC lift will always be in the way of ramp loading. I may still utilize a WC lift on the side, just won't need a widened one.

Were the items with prices starting at over $10k? Only items over $10k are timed auctions there.
The rust thing is interesting as I would have thought that I wouldn't want a bus from any snowy area due to salted roads causing excessive corrosion. It turns out many snow areas don't have that rust issue. So we need a list of the states to just avoid the salt rust issue.

I live in Maine and bought a local bus. I knew to expect rust going in, just how it is up here. Body is in good shape but both wheel wells and front corners of the floor are toast. Not a BIG fix but not a big bus either. I’d take a long look at anything from the snow/icy states before parting with your money.

Dealers in the PNW say they never have issues with rust, I tend to believe him. However, I would be very concerned about buying a bus from New England.

I pulled the last piece of interior sheet metal from the inside of my Oregon bus.
Body, frame and interior had no rust.
From what I hear from others who have bought OR or WA buses they tend to be relatively rust free.

Oregon has started using salt on roads during extreme conditions.

Get y all some Texas buses! Haven't seen anyone using this site, but figured I'd share. Majority of their auctions have NO buyers premium or other fees, unless otherwise stated in listing, and seen some go for good prices on here
Looks like just about all the Texas schools post up here. Or at least a lot of them

Cummins M11 Engine, Good condition. It is out of a Bomag Compactor. 8,834 hours
https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...=3&acctid=8397
Complete engine. Was taken out of service in early 2017. Running fine when removed. Engine is on a pallet and seller can load if needed.
Something to put in that Studebaker?
