We’re told the bus has accumulated over a half million miles in its 64 years and the Cummins diesel engine dates to the 1990s and has since been “updated” (whatever that means). However, the running condition of the bus is said to be first-rate."

"We’re told the paint isn’t perfect, but the seller says you won’t find any rust onboard. The front tires are new, and the rear donuts are okay. A new battery has been installed along with new exhaust gaskets."

I love those old Crowns. There's a couple real nice Crown builds out there on the web. Josh with CrownedInStyle on YT, but mostly Instagram has an exceptional build and he's now a bus builder with a new shop in FL and he's also a Solar Guru. He's been traveling in his Crown doing Solar jobs for lots of DIY'ers for awhile, not he has the new shop. Not sure he's still traveling or not. I know his roots are in Cali, so he may still travel FL to Cali. He's good guy. The other build also has Crown in the channel name and I can't remember it, but it too is a real nice Crown build. Josh has modernized his powertrain a couple times over replacing the mid engine 2 stroke Detroit with some other brands and now a modern Cummin's with an MD3060 and it was originally a manual trans bus. Just something nostalgic about the Crowns. I love'm but will never have one.

Great history about these things. IIRC, there was only like 8 ever built. Some have been destroyed, but I think it's 3 that have been restored and one of those 3, the guy has a 2nd one. Maybe just for parts to restore the first one. I'd have to look to make positive, it's been a while since I read up, but I think there's still 5 of the 8 in existance, 3 restored, and 2 are pretty much yard art or parts. They were pretty much used for nothing but educational displays and advertising at like county fairs and such type events. Very cool vehicles nonetheless.

Typo on the year, it's a 2003 so should be pre emissions I believe?

32' RE transit bus from Eldorado. Located in VA.

VIN decoder says it's a 5.9 ISB although it's a 2010, maybe the engine lags behind a few years. Tranny appears to be MD3060. Lots of miles (374k)

At this rate, it's looking like it may go for less than $1500. Thought about jumping in myself but I just can't do another trip so soon, that length is really nice and tempting though. Inside also seem nicer than most school buses.
