to me 6-7k doesnt sound bad for a Rust-free, all mechanical 8.3, with 643.. Ok with 4.78 gears its not gonna be fast.. probably 55-60 at stock 2400 RPM.. but you can safely spin those at 2700-2800 and then you have a 65 MPH bus... and that one is even Air-Conditioned.. if I were Looking for a Big Long Bus, that one would probably have my name written on it..

Yeah, if I were shopping for RYO right now I'd JUMP on one of the AZ mechanical buses.
No bids yet, so I'd probably just throw my max bid at it now at say 4400 bucks. If anyone wanted it more than me, they'd at least have to pay more than I'd be willing to.

$10~$20K?!?? I've seen some dealer buses at $12k that look like these ('99-02, 200k miles, etc) but I've not seen any at $20k. The $20k buses I've seen are '08 50k miles. They are probably out there but then I pay very little attention over about $7500.

My plan to win the lottery isn't going all that well. If I did, I think I'd still skoolie only I'd go buy one off the assembly line that has every feature I want.

Those Texas busses look nice , would need a little work but not the end of the world.

Would need some work, but relatively cheap and low miles: https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...320&acctid=176

466 Vista, no title: https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...353&acctid=176

No idea what the engine really is, but its a manual: https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...=3&acctid=9669

I think this bus may have a 643 Trans: https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...222&acctid=430

bob: it shows you as high bidder on that WV bus with cummins and MT-643.. and shows reserve met...

judging from that and the CHeapie Texas busses (that carpenter with A/C and just needs a battery went for $625..). it mustve been an off-week for the dealers and exporters... Looks to me bob like you got a ncie bus for a nice price!

I managed to change my gmail settings somehow. I got the email almost immediately. It was in the Update folder.

Sent an email to the bus guy about pickup. Hopefully there is someone there on Sat and I can grab it without missing work.

The price was MUCH nicer 10 minutes before the auction's scheduled time. Four extension didn't help. Went from $1525 to $3525 in about 15 minutes. But I've got a bus. Turns out it's 6 1/2 hrs away. I thought it said 4 1/2 hrs when I looked it up.

in under 3 days I might be flipping one. Hope this one doesn't go up in the last minutes like the last one. I think this one is cleaner and I know it would be a hell of a lot better drive back.

Where do you live? Your info says MD, I'd think WV would be much closer than Washington.

Yep, Baltimore basically. WV, even the OH side is MUCH closer than WA. But I didn't say it was closer. I said it would be a much more fun drive.

WV 423 miles thru 2 states.
WA 2824 miles thru 10 states.

Fly out to WA and drive back. One route goes thru MT. I've not been to MT. I could swing by Glacier NP and I have people I can visit in MT. Then it splits and goes thru ND or goes thru the SD Badlands. It's been awhile since I drove thru there. Also dangerously close to Devil's Tower. I've wanted to see it since Close Encounters of the Third Kind came out. A third route goes thru UT and I could detour easily enough to go thru Denver. I've never been to CO and I have people there I could visit as well.

Drive out, turn around and drive back. I could drive the length of MD; something I've already done, and continue on to the OH River. Famous for being so polluted that it once caught on fire.

Now which sounds like more fun to you?

It was the Cuyahoga river in Cleveland that caught fire, not the Ohio River
