Not as many as you of course but when the description includes the term "roaring beast" it does make me wonder. The sound may be amazing at first but by hour 8 of day three it is probably just a really loud noise you're sick of. Sounds like trying to repackage a negative as a positive--kind of like "she isn't much to look at but she sews her own clothes".

How much of the time do you plan on accelerating during a 8 hour day? Once you get to HWY speed it's smooth sailing. This guy is bus collector and he is proud that it sounds wonderful. It has HP to get up and go quickly when it needs it or you can drive it more conservatively. The engine is the rear vs the front on this bus which is better than the front engine buses for sound levels.

The Crown bus is one of the best buses ever made.

Yeah I just realized I hadn't done that. I'm not expecting anyone to find me a bus, although it would be great if that happened, it was just a comment.

I'm in Orlando, FL

I swear I didn't see that when I posted the reply and then went back and saw it, thought I was losing my mind for a moment. That's why I deleted it. Now that we know what you're looking for, as we view the listing we can post examples of that bus.

I've gotten 3 buses pretty darn similar to that one. The shorties go cheap at the auctions. Everyone wants a BIG bus.

I can help you find a bus and I'm just a bit north of you in the Sorrento/Apopka area.
Come on over some time!

Eustis! You're not far, what are the auctions around this area that I should check out? Trying to stay local for obvious reasons, but also would like to find a southern bus that hasn't seen snow.

I was actually planning to take a ride up to Eustis sometime soon to try out the wolf branch brewery.

Haha that's awesome. I'm brand new to this so I'm in no rush, just enjoying reading this site and learning some stuff before I jump in.

I buy as far from "local" as I can.
Better buses MUCH cheaper if you shop outside FL.
There's the Gideons auction in Zellwood. But running buses of any kind go for 10 grand and up over there.

Shame he is in Florida and not Texas =(

From what I can find there are three school district auctions in my area scheduled for October. I won't know if they will have any buses available till the auctions start. Fingers crossed.

Sorry man. I am happy as a clam that you like the sound/noise but you will never win an argument with me that obnoxiously loud is a good thing. Even if I did like it I wouldn't want to inflict it on everyone else. We do however agree that the Crowns are amazing buses =)
