No school bus is over 40.
Windows are different sizes.
I have a 2002 AARE3 that has 1 set of windows less and is just over 34ft.

IDK man I've seen 40' CE buses with more than 9 windows.

Depending on the engine, this could be a good starting point for someone.

40' Amtran FE bus.

"1995 full size school bus. Cummins 8.3 diesel DT466, auto, 2 a/c units, 2 water tanks, roof rack, plenty of storage, 118,000 highway miles"

$6500

Doesn't list the tranny in it, and they don't seem to know the engine (there's a picture of it in the listing.) What caught my eye is it looks like the middle-height version, full basement storage, roof rack, and the white paint looks serviceable, and the seats are out.

I am skeptical of a 24 year old bus with only 118k miles. But.... I have seen a few prison buses that were pretty low miles for the age.

Maybe?

Of course it does happen. Given the frequency of dash panel failure / replacement I tend to be skeptical of low mileage claims.

But, like I said in my post, I have seen prison buses that have unusually low mileage.

Super sweet ole bus someone put some time in. But man running 80 on the interstates with it, put your big boy panties on for that. I think it would scare the hell out of me.

looks like a typical Rustoleum or Tremclad paint job after a few years - rust paints are infamous about oxidizing and loosing gloss quickly - they make a good primer for a urethane base paint that hold their shine a lot longer, or even some automotive enamels that hold their gloss for longer yet

What 7sp. tranny would this have, or is the seller uneducated on it?

Called him, said it was a straight shift Spicer 7 speed. It's a 98 model.

It is called a Spicer 6+1 transmission, either has overdrive or a granny creeper gear

Decent looking bus.Says the brake pedal itself doesn't moved, thinks it's rusted from sitting. Price not negotiable.
