You seem to have gotten lucky. Douglas county has 8 buses on GD, all listed as non running, scrap.

Cost + 25%. Got to make it worth your time and cover your downside risk. The market doesn't care what your profit margins are. If the market doesn't buy at your higher margin, You can always lower your price to make it move. It's geographic arbritrage after all...

Hmmm.... Well for starters I need to raise the capital to buy a SW bus and bring it over here first. Would really help if I could sell my F-250...

It cost around $600 for the fuel to get one home from Denver to Apopka.
Idk. I'd just focus on having nicer buses than bga and probably go for that approach. They charge ten grand and up for anything decent.

Hey everyone! new to the site and looking for a bus. I found some up for auction that the postings are fairly vague on, but may have potential.

https://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/li...t?orgid=891741

I was wondering, is there was anyone out there near the Danville Kentucky area that might be willing to give these a look and let me know if they are rust buckets or not, or if anyone has any experience with Kentucky busses to know if they are typically sound busses?

Thanks

A few members here have bought Kentucky buses and have had good luck with them. They seem to pretty much all have DT466s in the International buses and lots have MT643s or 2000 series transmissions (in the later ones) but I couldn't tell you anything about this particular batch.

Those Amtran bodies are nice, most of them have good headroom. The Thomas pusher is nothing special, just your average low headroom budget bus.

$70,000

Is that with or without the prisoners?

To continue with the trend of overpriced prison buses, here's a real gem. 2006 bluebird aa re with the cat c7. "minor cosmetic damage" "164,00 miles"

so what is the price? $70,000. That's right. Seventy thousand!!

People seem to pay a lot more for prison buses since somehow already being painted white seems to add another $10K to the asking price

Also the ones with the small porthole style windows seem like they would be a challenge to skin over if the owner doesn't like the unique look of them.

That's a curious layout in the back. Maybe a prison bus for transporting sick prisoners?

If that is the most recent CA inspection form then its been sitting for 10 years. Looks like they already pulled parts off it judging by the state of the dash and all the missing seats.

I'm sure they'll still get questions like "Can I drive this 600 miles home?"

Full disclosure, I know one of the owners of this shop and bought 3 used limos through him 15 years ago. Anyway, they have a 2002 shorty for sale, T444, with lift here. Looks pretty clean.

I see an interior thats ripped up, bent rim on the drive axle and a filthy engine bay (possible expensive oil leaks).

If the Florida school district has it listed as "Poor" condition then I'm surprised the thing even starts.

Definitely not worth breaking the stay at home for that bus.

1985 MCI 96-A3 Custom Coach

Just saw it advertised on Craigslist. Not cheap at $15K for a 1985 MCI, but looks like a decent amount of infrastructure is in place for an easy build out.
