Non-Afilliated 1980 Gillig For Sale

This 1980 Gillig tandem axle bus is currently on eBay.

The seller oversees school bus care and feeding for a private school in Northern CA (near Redding). I actually bought my Gillig from this very same seller (Todd) last December; my bus was also for sale on eBay.

My experience with the seller was first rate with no surprises. Details of my trip from MD to CA and back are here.

Seller is asking $8,800...

Details from eBay listing:
-Retired church bus, former school bus
-has the highly desireable mid engine big cam Cummins 855 diesel
-10 speed Roadranger 10 speed RTO (overdrive) manual transmission
-tandem rear axles have power to both axles.
-Very powerful
-Runs and drives beautifully. Tight steering!
-stainless steel siding so zero rust. Dry California bus
-mileage states 186,000...actual mileage unknown
-Extremely well maintained
-front tires new, rear tires all excellent condition
-LED clearance lights being installed
-Registered non commercial
-Clear title in hand, ready to go.
-Overhead interior luggage racks, rear trunk.
-two issues that have not been corrected; 1) fuel gauge in-op, 2) Speedometer needle bounces all over the place, may be electronic sensor

Todd tells me "It's a blast to drive. Same engine and transmission as the logging trucks up here."

He also says he is debating when to sell off the other 2 Phantoms they have; says it may happen in January...

I bought it

ConfortEagle,

I bought it! Perfect timing for me and it's a steal at that price. If you really want to bring frankincense and myrrh, I'm up in the DC area. Planning on doing a full conversion, hopefully with the help of Chrome Yellow Corp out of Denver unless you know someone in the DMV area who knows Crowns and Gilligs! I'm definitely gonna need help with wiring, pluming and mounting things around that giant powerplant!

Thanks.
