NY bus auction

http://www.maltzauctions.com/auction/364861/500-school-buses

I hope the link works. This is a bankruptcy auction, newer buses, lots of shorties.

this is awesome, thanks so much for posting! How do these kinds of auctions work? Does anyone have experience purchasing from an auction? How do I know which bus I'm bidding on?

Thanks for posting this! I'm new here, just started looking into school buses. I am close enough that I might actually go and see these buses. Question - do people really get on the ground and crawl under the bus to look at these auction inspections?

Most auctions will allow inspections of their busses.
Most times an appointment is needed, or they have open viewing dates/times they post for that.

I would highly recommend an in person visual body/undercarriage inspection on anything found in NY.

I was debating going just to crawl under a few buses, even though none of these buses check off my boxes it is relatively local.

Barbara- that is a fantastic idea.

You might also meet some dealers there that are trying to buy inventory. Spread the word on what you are looking for. Network COVID-style!

Its nice to see newer vehicles up close even when they aren't what you are looking for. You can see where and how quickly they age, rust, leak etc. and how different the new stuff (windows, controls, seals) is that the vintage you're really interested it.

Take a picnic lunch and a camera. and don't forget the roll up foam pad to lie down on. Sounds like a fun day to me...

Inspection day has been posted as the 23rd. Anyone going? Would love to see what you do while you inspect. Unfortunately for me I'm not mechanically inclined and have little experience with this . . .

I’m in the zero experience group as well. Unfortunately we have just decided to move in a month, so I’ll be home shoveling out my attic...
