Purchasing a new school bus chassis?

Has anyone ever looked into purchasing a new bus chassis from the factory/dealer that is stripped down (i.e. no seats, no warning lights, etc)? Seems like I remember seeing prices for new school buses being in the 60k - 100k range. I"m wondering if you could buy a bare bones chassis without all the school accessories for around 30-40k from the factory, and probably even have them add extras insulation, wiring where needed, etc when they build it. Then you would have a new stripped down starting platform that has a full drivetrain warranty to build the perfect RV. Feedback please.

thats the price range i find. 45 for shortie 1 ton chassis to 120 for large full size buses. unless you are putting on 30-40k a year road tripping i cant see it being worth buying new.
