Johnathan640 is a thief. And, yeah...I am an idiot. But if he or Christian Brown try to sell you something...duck.

Ya know, I've been thinking about ways to secure my three rear windows since it's so easy to smash them or rip the gaskets out. Rub rail would actually match the style of the bus, kinda. I think I'd only need one, though - your bus must be for transporting some extra-skinny prisoners.

LOL...Maybe you should just put "Prison Bus" lettering up on the rear cap... LOL..

That should keep the low life walking in the other direction...

Or a misdirecting paint job like printing that implies the vehicle is a CDC transport carrying COVID infected victims. I've been considering attaching dark dome-like plexi's on mine and making up some fictional division of the department of transportation like a mobile electronic moving violation evidence recording and citation issuing prototype vehicle which implies to other drivers their stupidity on the road may earn them a ticket without ever getting pulled over... Like red light cameras or speed zone cameras only wandering the road randomly in a windowless black RV. I prefer psychological deterrence to physical hardening/armoring because unless you have the resources to build and operate a literal tank or armored truck the risk of looting is mostly about time and tools of opportunity.

Ha ha, that is seriously a good idea. I was thinking of making my skoolie look like a church bus, but something that appears to be connected to law enforcement seems better. Maybe "DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS" would do the trick, or I could make it "DEPORTMENT OF CONNECTIONS" so I don't run into trouble with the law myself.

I was thinking "Rebel Scum Transport Vehicle" myself. Of course, though, that will detour no one.

If you have a converted School Bus, they will assume you are a broke deadbeat and are less likely to break into your bus, but less likely means they still will and will for sure if they are looking to steal Weed..

For real stealth, a box truck with Fresh Plumbing Co is a good one to keep people away.

I just repaired a fridge for someone, and they never came back to pick up their stinky unclean fridge, so there is more than one way to get screwed. Someone stole $800 from my wallet at my shop the day I was going to buy a Hybrid Highlander,
but stealing a week of my time trying to help someone out and leaving trash behind is perhaps the worse.

I think the OP did not do due diligence and got taken and is blaming it on the seller. Strange that he comes to bad mouth the guy, but won't say how he ripped him off.

How about the legend we saw on a sewage pump-out truck:

I'm getting sick and tired of all the scammers coming out of the woodwork as well. "Libertyisabus" put this 2004 IH 3800 for sale but conveniently forgets to mention the bus hasn't moved an inch since June of last year, is sitting in mud and doesn't have an inspection sticker. He claims he now decided to sell it as is, but the mechanic I sent to inspect the bus found some serious corrosion on the frame, which pegs my bullshit-o-meter. We agree that I can use his plate and insurance (which will cover me) to drive it home but then "daddy" gets in the way and he changes his mind, so no idea if he will keep his word. I wasted $300 on the inspection, and this dweeb couldn't even fix a flat tire in
time for the mechanic's appointment so he could drive it.

I have determined there was no scam, OP won't reveal how he got taken. Sounds like a sore loser to me.

Hey, I'd buy one of those. Perfect for cruising through Mexico on the way to better places in South America. Like Costa Rica.

The important thing is to name and shame. If you don't, it didn't happen.

I explained. I named the culprit. Both his screen name here and his real name, the name of his accomplice and the city they live in. I'm not sure what your problem is, but reading the thread before commenting sure isn't it.
