I’m at 6 something right now. How would I know compatibility? I was thinking of going to 5 something, but this has me thinking. Need to do the math on 4.78

What rear end do you currently have? This differential will work in an n175 or n190 with 36 spline axles as a direct swap or if you axles spline count is more then you could have to swap out the right g and pinion from my carrier to yours. If you don't know what rear end you have it has tags on it that identically the parameters I have defined here.

Yes that's exactly how I did it, it's a no brainer easy way if you swap complete carrier all you do is take it out paying attention to the shims and put the exchange unit in with the shims as the old unit refill and go, no end gauges, no setting backlash.

Mine will fit an n175 or an n190 spiced rear end with 36 spline axles, direct swap. The ring and pinion gears inside the carrier once removed will fit any n175 or n190 reguardless of axles spline. Diversify the make of your rear end of its a spicer 175 or 190 your in luck.

I have another 410 carrier but it's not that cheap. I gave 750 each for them. You can have yours rebuilt in 410 for around 1250.00.

my curremt one is a 175
and swapping 3rd members is by far the easiest way to go.. when I find one i'll probably send it to my driveline shop toi habe ot readjusted or ill do it myself on the bench if i have time.. once these things get lots of accells and decels on them, they tend to wear out of adjustment a bit.. normally the lash and endplay more than anything.. pinion depth shouldnt change unless something is failing like a bearing.. the preload will often be less than spec but unless im rebuildinfg with new pinion bearings I normally dont touch that.

How do the new gears feel? I am about to swap my 4.78's to 4.10 with a new differential. How was the swap trying to get the diff up into the housing?

N190
I thought the N175 was a 36 spline and the N190, N210 were 39 pline and N340, N400 were 41 spline?
