Lived north of Boston for 7 years. Lynn has some rough spots. Nickname "Lynn, Lynn, city of Sin."

If you're not local and you go to take a look I'd recommend meeting somewhere public, or further north. October is over, so Salem is once again passable. But even Swampscott is a safer bet if you're not familiar w/ the area.
