Thoughts on 97 Int. with DT466?

These guys sell a LOT of busses it seems, always on CL saying they have multiples of each type.

97-98 inter school bus dt466 65pass auto air brakes florida full size

97 Int. with the DT466.

Just getting into this, I know the DT466 is a good wet sleeve diesel, what tranny would be ideal?

Any thoughts on those busses, longevity and build quality?

Thanks!

Where are you located?
They sell the SAME buses you can buy yourself. For about double the price.
Look on GovDeals, Public Surplus, even Ebay can have some deals.
I've not seen much from BGA that was any kind of good deal on a bus. It can be hard sometimes when bidding online as BGA bid on LOTS of em.
A 97 is probably going to have a 545 trans. Maybe a 643. Its one of the two for sure. Neither has overdrive. The 643 is stouter and has lockup. Shifts better, is just better in general.
Its says they're FL buses. IF they're FROM FL, they are almost surely low spec, low power, low geared, and short on maintenance.
FL buses only sell for so much money because they export them at the many ports we have and the export market drives the prices to crazy levels.
I got my bus for two grand on GovDeals. Its got pretty much all the bells and whistles I was wanting and virtually no rust.
Just my 2 cents.

those look like the busses that are on the lot just down the street from BGA. MOST of the busses at BGA are AT545's unless they are new enough to have the 2000's with overdrive.. I think they buy those as they can get them the cheapest.
