Too many miles?

Looking at a bus on auction, ends today. Cant get much info out of the seller probably due to the holidays. its got 290,000 ish miles on a Cummins 8.3 and an MD3060 with hydraulic retarder. I will have to fly out and drive it almost 2000 miles home to new england and I am a bit nervous about it. What do you guys think?

Nice starter bus if it runs. Take a chance,

I would trust that mileage more with that drive train than another. Doubt your roof is 80".

Those look like nice buses. REAL nice drivetrains.
Buses like that go for big bucks once they aren't owned by a school.

1 hour left, at $2k, but hasn't met reserve yet. Wouldn't be surprised to see it spike in the last few minutes by a couple thousand $.
PS won't let me log in to find the reserve price.

I figured it was a 78" height with those luggage racks. Price is already climbing, I bid earlier to ensure it would work with the bid deposit. I figure reserve is $4000 or $4500. We will see. 40 mins left

The initial bidder just bid another $200 and she still hasn't met reserve.

No Go, it went for $6800!!! Thats $7480 with the buyers premium of 10%. It would have cost me at least $1700 to get it home so I was out around $5500 and even that was too much. The search continues.

Thanks CB, I am getting real burnt out from the search, but I have a system, and I am holding to it. Recently made a nice spreadsheet with all the possibles, listing all options ( driveline, dimensions price, location, distance, travel costs etc.) and that is helping keep me focused.
