Hi to all in Skoolie Land

We are looking for a late 90's to early 2000 ..Mid Size Thomas or Blue Bird Dog Nose school bus .
Cummins with a Manual Transmission .
I will travel any place as long as the unit is in good condition & salt free .

If y'all see or know of a unit that fits , please let us know .

Cant ever say I have seen a Cummins with a manual. Plenty of DT's though.

It is very possible to build any bus ya may desire. Nearly any engine can be used, and about any transmission can be
installed as well. Some fabrication may be required, but all is good to go. The main part of a bus is the body which is difficult to do major changes. Bus engines, brakes and transmissions are chosen by the new bus consumer. Frank

I agree ...it could be a hard find ... I've just returned from Mexico & lots of ex school buses on the road , all seemed to have the manual transmission , I drove from Canada to S/W Mexico last winter in a ford class C camper & had auto transmission problems " hard fix "
Our plan is to travel lots in out Skoolie with easy future fixes

It's would be very tempting to get a unit like that ... Can you please tell me what your cruzing speed is & what mpg you are getting ..

It'll do...well, I dont know. I got it up to 75 once and backed off. I've got over a million miles driving truck and propelling something 25,000# down the road at 75mph simply is nuts.

We do 62 most all the time. Once in a while 65. We do a lot of mountain stuff. Mileage is about 8, maybe 9 if we do a lot of flats.

It will climb anything I can throw at it at 45.
