WANTED - Hand Control For Ricon S Series W/C Lift

I know some of you get rid of your lifts. My new bus has a lift with a bad hand control. I can't believe,, in my excitement taking delivery,, I failed to operate the lift.. but there you go. New they cost $400+. I'd go half that for a used, but working, unit.

Post a photo of it, we can probably get you back on track. Certainly less than $400

Have you tried to troubleshoot it?
Does it have power coming in?
Do the individual switches have power?

If yes to both, perhaps the switches are bad? Not likely all are shot, but possible.

If it turns out the switches are bad, there are likely sources for the switches that would be much cheaper to replace than the entire control pendant.

I thought I might have a similar problem with mine, but it turned out that the main power plug/connector to the pendant controller on the frame of the lift was pulled apart enough to cause the controls to not work. All after pulling the pendant box apart to test the wiring inside!

Good luck and post up your fix...

I would think that's a 6 pin, molex type connector of which 5 wires are used. The power switch would feed the other switches and they, in turn, would move the lift. If there's a control box, that theory goes right out the window but it's a simple control either way.
**actually with a control panel it would be very similar. A schematic would be golden.

I've got one more to add to this, is the seat belt buckled on the lift? All the Ricon lifts I've dealt with require the seat belt be buckled (and that it to have sensed that it has buckled) before it works.

This appears to be the manual for your lift (there's a couple other similar ones out there), electrical diagrams start on page 42.

Yes, the belt is buckled. I had unbuckled it when I was loading flooring in, so it was one of the first things I checked.

I also knew to check the dedicated circuit breaker in the battery compartment. It's fine.

I have an electrician friend coming over this weekend to check all the switches, to rule that out, before I go spending that kind of money on a new hand control. I need the lift for my brother, so I don't really have a choice. Got to get it working.

Just to let you all know...I got ripped off by a member here. Johnathan640 is a scammer. My bad for falling for it. Stupidly, I thought because most of you are so helpful and friendly, there weren't still dirtbags and criminals, too. Lesson learned

There is no Johnathan640 in our member list here. You want to tell us what he did?

Bad grammar in that solicitation would be a rad flag for me. Also, a recent "join date" indicates he hasn't been on the site very long.
Easy to say after the fact but without knowing who you're dealing with, little clues are one's best defense!

He's probably an offshore scammer, of which we seem to have no shortage of with the internet in full ripoff mode.

Hopefully he or she, disguising as a he, didn't take you for too much?

Sellers on here have misled people.
Why we don't encourage them being here.

Yeah, I know I should know better. It was only $200. The tipoff was him demanding another $50 for shipping. He didn't get it.

But pure domestic scam. The money went to Janice Weems in Lusby, Maryland. Whether she is dude's mom or girlfriend is unclear. She didn't respond well when I demanded the money back, or I would call the police and send them to her home at 533 Barnacle Lane. LOL

Ms. Weems could also be a victim, in that her email address was compromised by an offshore ner-do-well making you think you were doing business more locally.

And on the other hand, she could be a scammer preying on folks looking to fill a need in their lives???

Totally sucks, and hopefully the mods on here have taken appropriate action to block further access by this entity...

I seem to remember one long time member here scamming a newbie on a bus sale, lying about the bus sold, when it was demonstrated he knew better from his previous posts. Sad

And now he's back. Ironically, on this thread, in fact. I remember something about him being banned for a while for "criticizing" another member (or their bus or something), not for ripping people off. Realistically, though, anyone could say "member X" ripped me off - ban them! Proof should be required.

You mean the bus that the buyer knew what tranny it had, bought it anyways and refused a refund of his buying price.
That would be like saying this guy got taken because the buyer told him there would be a $50 shipping charge and then bitched when he had to pay it. It sucks when the seller gets blamed for a buyers mistake.

I tried to thank you for the laugh. But it appears I need to spread the thanks around more. So I'll thank you in a post instead.
