What do you think of this bus/engine?

A guy in Burleson, Texas (near Dallas – I think) has an eBay listing (saw it when I went to look at the 56 Chevy Superior).
The bus looks quite clean from the under carriage picture

– But my real question is I did not seem to remember any 98 or 99’s Bluebird (I think the guy has 8 total of those two years) that are pusher with 5.9 Cummings (he says it has a AT 545 for the trans) – I thought they were 8.3 ( an would have a larger transmission.

I posted here to ask you folks – who know way more than I do.

PS is 175K getting to be too much for that engine (assuming 5.9)

Here is a link :http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Blue-...item2a21a1b61e
And FWIW I have no association with the ad, the person, the bus or any other thing…
and the bid is doubled since last night...

The 4.14 rear end is a good one for the highway.... From what I have learned here on the forum most would be very happy to have a 4.14 rear gear......
Top speed around 65 mph.... un educated guess......

Thats not too many miles. I would be more interested in engine hours than miles though.

Nice bus. The 5.9 might be a little tiring if you were driving through mountains a lot.

Re: What do you think of this bus/engine?

I know when I did commerical tires and one of my counter parts did many school districts more of them used 11r225 which is taller than a LP22.5 and shorter than a 12r22.5 dont want to say its inbetween but more or less it is.

Burleson is not near dallas. Its SW of Fort Worth. I drive through it all the time. I live about 15 miles or so from there (burleson) not sure if your interested in the bus or not but if you need a set of eyes on it I will be more than willing to help if I can.

Let me know in PM
