WTB: Completed Off-Grid Conversion with Roof Raise

Hello, friends!

My girlfriend Liz and I have been talking very seriously over the past couple days and decided that it's probably in our best interest to sell our newly purchased 1998 Blue Bird All American RE in exchange for something that is actually tall enough inside for me to stand comfortably! It was a silly oversight, but the interior if only 5'11" and I am 6'2"! Not the most comfortable for me, which is a shame, because it is beautiful in all other ways.

We are looking to buy another vehicle that is also completely converted, or at least replete with the basics required for living, including food cooking and storage, water, electric and enough room for me to stand up straight!

Here is our list of necessities:

- Full PV system, including robust battery bank and inverter

- Heating system, whether wood, fuel, etc. that is sufficient for realistic living temps during the Northeast winter

- A shower with hot water, preferably tankless

- Large fresh water storage tank

- Full kitchen (countertops and sink, built in or portable cooking surface)

- Tall enough inside for an individual who is 6'2"!!!

Bonus Features/Preferences:

- 40 feet long

- Roof raise

- Roof deck

- Composting toilet / no black water tank

- Tub under the shower!

- Lots of exposed wood inside

We are really looking forward to seeing what else is out there! Looking forward to any questions or comments!

Chris and Liz

I have a partially converted ‘86 Ford B700. 16” roof-raise.

It’s insulated (1.5” polyiso foil faced with spray foam for gaps), has the subfloor done, and most of the ceiling (1/4” birch”)

Has two air-ride captains chairs up front for comfortable riding next to your partner.

35’ bumper to bumper. 30’ interior space.

Ford 429 big block. New edelbrock 650 CFM carburetor, EGR and governor deleted. Headers. Cruises at 70, has about 300 hp.

Painted (light blue)
Elastomeric roof coating

All tires at 95%

Skylight

High volume roof fan

Class A Bigfoot automatic hydraulic leveling system ($4000 value)

I’m 6’2” and have tons of head room.

Bus is ready for your personal touch/floorplan.

If you’re interested, let me know and we can talk more.

Our plans have changed since moving here (North Carolina) and we’re moving back West with our new baby. We love our bus, but have been thinking about passing it along to someone else to finish and starting over in a year or two after we get settled.

Haven’t really thought about price. Could be pretty flexible for the right people

Bus is further along than these photos. I can send some new ones if you want
