Bus Abuse
This post could be called “Shot In The Dark” or Free Bus” but here goes. My storage neighbor has a 72 Bluebird ( I think he said) that he needs to get rid of. He’s paying storage fees on his dads old bus that has rusty rotten metal and termites ate the interior. Yep she’s a goner. He can’t give it away. Not even for a hunting camp.
She must have been something at one time.
Here is what I’ve been told.
1. They evacuated for hurricane Gustov, Denver and back, in 2007. Parked it and there she sits.
2. The siblings have registration and tilte.
3. Free to whoever can start it and drive it/ tow it away so they don’t have to pay for storage anymore.
So that’s what I mean by shot in the dark. If somebody here we’re in need of an old Cat motor or whatever tranny that is, this may be your lucky day. They are not interested in selling parts although the rooftop A/C’s look good. I have dibs on the onan gas genny that I’ll probably convert to propane.
Hit me up if you’re interested. I have their phone number. If I needed this motor, I would probably pull the parts I needed, drag the bus to our local junkyard row and abandoned vehicle area. Less than 2 miles! Haha. Torching abandoned vehicles seem to be optional. Some do, some don’t.
Just puttin it out there. Ya never know.
Dave

Holy s--t... Looks like a modified WanderLodge. Possibly 3208 Cat, likely an MT643. I'd love to have it if it hasn't been damaged by another storm since then (Harvey was 2017). Would like more pics. Has it run since being parked? Edit: Jumpy browser strikes again...

I dunno, but from the pics that you put up, that's about the best looking bus I've seen in this neck of the woods for quite a while. That be Skoolies.

Too bad the post mentions it has serious rot. I was all set to go get it myself until I re-read and noticed it. Could be saved, but more work than it's worth, no doubt.

I think the front end treatment was wishful thinking applied to a Wanderlodge.

Yes, but Katrina was in 2005, original post mentions this one was driven in 2007. I originally mentioned Katrina, thinking it was in 2015, then edited. Can anyone tell if this one is a turbo?

There was also Rita right after Katrina, and Rita was an even bigger hurricane.
It's weird, I have no memory at all of Gustav ( 2008 ) and I was living in Louisiana at the time.

Amazing rot. I’m told that the rv fridge was ground zero for termites. Tho the termites are gone, I’m not opening that bad boy! The seats are leather and on some kind of spring pedestal. The problem is that cats sleep in there when it gets chilly. The main door glass is broken.

Bus Abuse
Hey, here is another bus available around here. Party bus. The guy who owned it passed away a few months ago. It’s uncertain if he has any family.
He was a good friend of my neighbor so we could start there. I took these pictures last week becuz I kinda liked the color and was thinking about using that blue on my bus.
I know the guy was all over town. I saw it everywhere. He loved his bus and loved doing bachelor parties.
The inside is just bus seats against the wall and a stripper pole. [emoji12]
Bus porn to follow.

For some reason, your post includes three image attachments which are all some sort of battery circuit diagram.

That isn't a Wonderlodge or any Bluebird. Look at the bottom curve of the windshield.

Hence, I said "modified". If Mercedes built buses in the US in the 70s, I doubt they looked like this. The roof/windshield cap look a lot like most Blue Birds I've seen. Bedford Bus, maybe, but certain things point to Blue Bird. Even the OP said they believe the owner said it was a Blue Bird. Nobody said it was 100% factory.
You can even see where there used to be flashing lights in the ends of the roof cap. It was either once a school bus, or factory coach that was crashed and repaired with what they could find, IMO.
