Spoken like a person who has boondocked around a bit. Never a good idea to park in front of someone’s house. One of my fav’s is on the street between the Holliday Inn and Marriott Courtyard. (or any other two you come across ). I’ve never had a problem. Lots of ppl traveling and nobody cares. I keep my bus generic. No stickers.
And then there’s hot coffee in the morning. [emoji1] [emoji2]

Parking in a town? No thanks
I think it's sad that some people look at a skoolie and see a problem. People are far too self entitled sometimes. With that said I'm sure there are lots of vehicle dwellers who are jerks and leave a mess/make a racket.
I'm planning and gathering resources for a build to start in a month or two but I lived in various cars in the summer for years and I would much rather drive out of town and find a nice spot in the woods to sleep.
The impetus for this build for me is to get out of cities and the constant hum. Morning coffee is much nicer with a pleasant view, no exhaust fumes and sweet silence.

I don't. It's the voices in my head that have all the mental issues.

With a licensed and registered vehicle, parked on a public road (for which the registration fees paid for) there should be no issue with parking on a public road in a location where parking is generally allowed. Whether you're a home owner in the area or not, if you're in a non restricted parking area the Karens and Kens should just shut up.
That said, the trash (one mans trash is another treasure) could be an issue.
As for the fireplace and air quality standards, most burning restrictions for heating stoves typically have exemptions if the stove is your only source of heating.
What's most disturbing is the myriad of theories on how government could step in and harass the person in the bus. Perhaps they should do the same for all skoolies, full time RVers, etc.? Oh wait, that might be ME.... or YOU

Unfortunately, Ohio probably isn't the best tax wise....

buddy of mine has exactly that.. a campground spot thats rented to him year round.. it started out as a seasonal thing for him.. go live in his camper for the spring / summer and good bit of the fall months every weekend or for a couplke weeks at a time.. then he got a new job closer to his camper than house so he was there more than not till he finally just sold the house and lives in the camper..
in his case his campground is in a nice rural area but has full hookups, but is not in a touristy rural area.. in touristy areas campground oiwners renting by the night or wekeend stand to make much more $$ than renting lots out monthly so might be harder to find a permanent space..
I didnt realize it was possible to keep an RV in operation over a winter in states like Ohio or michigan but AI guess it is.. figured the fresh water tank would freeze pretty easily being under the trailer vs inside..

I like what you discribed, Christopher.
A place where skoolies can build, grow & thrive, without intrusion. That's what we offer at Our Happy Place, FL. With or w/out Water & Electric, Dumpster onsite.
Lots of shade on 20 acres, near the Swarm's Crystal Lake Location. Interested campers are welcome to send me a PM.

sounds like the perfect place!! thats kind of what my friend lives in, although I dont think there are any skoolies there.. however from what ive seen there could be and they prob wouldnt care.. they dont have age limits on people;s RVs or some special sticker required.. they just want respectful people who keep their campsite clean, RV maintained, and arent too rowdy.. common sense pretty much.. many of the people there have had their rigs there for a long time and socialize together so it makes for a community where people look out for each other (esp when someone is gone and their rig unoccupied)..
sounds like the place you are making which is a super cool endeavor and what the community needs more than ever

The problem isn’t the parking, it’s the living in it. Many places have ordinances that don’t allow sleeping in your car, van, etc.
I pulled up next to a guy just this week. I said “ I know what you’re thinking”.
Huh? Wah?
I said “You’re good to go here all along the lakefront. Just move every couple of days”!

Agreed.
Overnight, unless there is a local ordinance, shouldn't be an issue (and such an ordinance might be unconstitutional when applied to overnighting).
Hang out for days...make a mess..... yep that becomes something different.
Also, many states and localities have ordinances on the books (be sure to check the planning docs as well) prohibiting living in an RV. Some so bad that the visiting family can't sleep in your own RV parked on an RV pad beside the house.
Free Country? Suuuuure
