Those key fob deals are kinda neat. You could probably clone them if you have the original key, but I don't think you could do it without the key. So unless you have some sort of device that can emulate millions of key signals, I don't think you have to worry.

I've never tried driving without a key fob. I know some vehicles will automatically lock if you leave it running and it loses communication with the fob. That was a 2013 charger that did that. Serviced the car, backed it out and left it running, walked away to get a window sticker, and heard the doors lock. Instant butt pucker moment thinking I just locked the keys in the car only to realize that they were in my chest pocket.

I'd put a battery disconnect in somewhere on the starting circuit.

The advantage with a bus is that if you can't start it, you can't really steal it. You can burgle it, but you can't make off with it, unless you're really determined (Al la tow truck.) I'd be more worried about my stuff inside then someone stealing the whole thing.

I'd think skoolies wouldn't be good theft targets anyways - we have enough registration trouble trying to get it to NOT pop up as a bus with the VIN #, I'd imagine it would be very suspicious with no VIN # at all.

If your home is built on a utility trailer and you don't actually live in your "home" its pretty easy for someone to steal.
