Great to hear! Definitely one of the easier registration stories lately.

And up in the Flagstaff / Williams area, I use the Footework third-party locations. I've done it so many times in both offices that the staff know me and know the process well. No waiting, no hassle. I highly recommend them. Easy peasy.

Since you've done it so many times what are you a bus converter and then you sell them? Or do you just go through schoolies like that? LOL

I was doing full conversions and have bought lots of buses, for myself and on behalf of customers...then re-titled them as RVs.

Jan 2025 Update

Just went through this process today. I bought the bus a month ago but hadn't titled it yet (drove it around on 3 day permits when needed...careful, there's a limit of like 3!). We DID get commercial insurance through Progressive so we could drive it until we jumped through the hoops. We did the conversion similar to others (very similar to miscrms...all in one kitchenette from OfferUp, water tank underneath, battery, water pump to the faucet, inverter). 3rd party DMV told me I needed a Level 2 so I scheduled it a couple weeks ago for this morning.

Showed up this morning and an agent came out to do the inspection. She said, "Why are you here for a level 2?" and I said to get converted to a motorhome. She said "who told you that you needed a level 2?" and I said 3rd party DMV. She rolled her eyes and said "this only needs a level 1. don't worry, I'll take care of it". She came on the bus, looked over the kitchen, asked me the mileage and said, "ok, come on inside and we'll refund you the $20 level 2 fee. Then just take it around front and get your title and registration". $38 minus the $20 credit and I was out the door with my class A motorhome reg and title!

Now to get insurance. And if anyone wants to buy the all in one kitchenette, let me know...bought it for $400, selling for $400. It's a $1200 unit, almost new!
