Bus insurance

Bus insurance to the most part is based on previous experience with an agent or company. Buses are some times difficult to insure because of many factors. Liability insurance is the basic requirement, theft, vandalism, colllishion are very spendy. The insurance carriers are just covering the other guy when your bus is involved. Fixing an old bus is very expensive so the comprehensive part of bus insurance is expensive. I have been using just basic liability and road service for about 8 years. My yearly insurance costs are about $350 per year. Last year my bus only moved about 20 daily trips and one 2 week trip. I can call my insurance guy at home whenever I need advice. Most insurance agents are not trying to be your best friend, they just must feed their family. Nope never sold insurance or anything.
I'm old with a good driving history. Frank

Might be helpful if everyone listed where they get their insurance:

I get mine from State Farm

Same here....local State Farm agent

~$200 per year for $25,000/$50,000 liability plus roadside assistance (though I don't know what the limit is on that)

Also...I can suspend and reinstate my policy at any time with just a phone call. My agent is cool (might have something to do with all the vehicle my family has had and currently has with her).

Pretty much identical here except with Allstate. Particularly as I have been with them 25+ years, excellent driving record, mutliple family vehicles on the policy, etc. I can also toggle it on / off with a phone call. These guys actually insured me for free when I brought my bus home from MA to NC! (Of course, that would have been a different story had there been any insurance requiring mishaps.)
