Re: CDL for this bus?

CDL=commercial drivers license, RV=recreational vehicle, not for hire, for personal use no special license required.

Re: CDL for this bus?

Commercial driver's licenses are for commercial vehicles. It's that simple. However, your specific state may require additional non-commercial endorsements that will parallel the CDL tests. You will have to check with your specific state DOT or call a state trooper. My Minnesota license says:

CLASS D - VALID SINGLE UNIT AND COMBINATIONS UP TO 26000 LBS GVWR, ALL RECREATION & FARM VEH. (M.S. 171.02)

Yep...it says I can operate ALL recreational vehicles. There is no stipulation on weight or braking system. Some other states require an air brake endorsement or have a weight restriction.

Re: CDL for this bus?

i apprechiate it you all.

i just checked NC exemptions and are as follows:
1. Active Duty Military . . . with military licenses operating military vehicles.
2. Firefighters . . . meeting approved training standards and operating authorized emergency vehicles.
3. Farmers . . . in certain cases.
4. Individuals ....operating motor homes or other vehicles used exclusively to transport personal possessions or family members, for non business purposes.

good....im not in danger....
