Help! Getting Insurance for my converted bus in BC or AB Canada

Hey friends!
Maybe someone here from Canada and can help me?
I called a bunch of insurance company’s and it seems nearly impossible to get a insurance done in AB or BC.. Once they want to know the VIN number and I say it’s a converted bus, nobody is interested in insuring me. I don’t want the full on insurance package. I just want coverage in case I hit a person or car. I don’t mind if my bus get’s a hit.
I am feeling kinda hopeless right now..
Anyone here who can help me?
I would really appreciate it!!
All the best,
Lis

It's not your bus they're worried about, it's the liability a big, heavy vehicle entails.

More details please!
Where are you trying to insure from? What questions are you asking them? What questions are they asking you?
You say you called a bunch of insurance companies but BC has only one insurer for vehicle liability. ICBC is the provincial government insurer. I just imported, completed provincial safety inspection's and insured my bus as a converted to motorhome in BC. Covid made it a little more difficult but overall was not that bad or expensive.
Welcome and good luck.

I’ve seen people in B.C. with buses - would be ICBC. You could try RV direct insurance in Alberta. They were taking buses then they weren’t and now supposedly they are again. They gave good prices for full coverage. Probably not even worthwhile to take off the full coverage in my opinion.

If that doesn’t work, find a broker that deals with Nordic Insurance, they will just give you liability but they’re expensive.
