And how do I tansfer that registration or title back into my home state?
If you have proof you paid sales tax when you purchased the bus, then you don't need to pay the sales tax a second time. Send your title copy (front only),along with 76.00 if it's older than 15 yrs old,and wait it out. Add a title fee if newer than 15yrs

My latest have been less than a month wait time. The 1950 Dodge bus packet shows delivered on 3/16, and I received plates on 4/7 (Temp plates because I requested a vanity plate).

A Jeep Ambulance shows forms delivered on 4/1 and the woman on the phone yesterday (She called me) said the plates would ship today or tomorrow. That's only a week into receiving the paperwork!

2005 is more than 15 years old, so a copy is fine as you won't get a title from VT anyway.

Check your bank for when the check clears. Two cleared about 15 days after the packet showed delivered in mid-March, and two others cleared 9 days after arriving near the beginning of April.

Plates always showed up less than a week after checks clearing.

just bought my bus! VIN verification question

Just bought my first bus! '06 Setra S417. Had it inspected prior and went to personally inspect and take a test ride and laid hands on it!
1. have insurance on it through Allstate
2.about to resister in VT. wan
Went to Website to check VIN verification since my bus is exactly 15 years old. It says VIN verification is on hold. Which means I need VD119 and check for 6% tax. Does this sound right?
Bought from small tour company they will deliver when weather clears.
Does that sound right regarding registering as MH in VT?

Plan to be bothering you folks a lot in the future if that's OK?

my bus was 15 years old too,no Vin verification was needed as long as I had my other paperwork. If you paid sales tax to the owner then you don't have to pay vt sales tax too.

Question Questions regarding registering in VT

Vehicle: 2004 Chevy Express 3500. Registered in CT as a Commercial Vehicle.

My vehicle is currently registered in the state of CT as a commercial vehicle. I have owned the vehicle for about a year, and I no longer have the bill of sale from the previous owner. I do have the title in my name. I do not need bill of sale if the vehicle is titled to me, correct?

Secondly, I do not have to pay tax since I purchased and paid the tax on this vehicle less than a year ago when I bought it, correct?

On the registration form, although this is currently registered as a commercial vehicle in CT, it would be considered a New Registration for a Motorhome in VT, right?

Thank you.

Amazing post, thank you.
Question: what kind of insurance did you need in order to register it as RV?
I’m from Nyc and thinking to do the same and register it in Vermont. Just wondering what type of insurance is needed. Tnks

You don't need insurance to register in VT, which is good because I wasn't able to get RV insurance from Allstate until after I was registered.
