Insurance for unconverted short bus in Philadelphia

Hey all,

My husband and I have recently bough a short Ford E-450 and were hoping to collect on Monday, however, I have had NO success in finding anybody to insure us so far.
We are in Philadelphia and need to collect the bus from Tennessee before we can start converting it. I've read through the previous posts and tried the insurers that seem to have worked for people before, asked for personal, commercial and commercial for personal coverage, but nobody seems to know anybody who will write us a policy. I'm not sure if I am saying the wrong things or it is something to do with the agencies here but if anybody has any advice or local experience they want to share I would greatly appreciate it!!!

TIA

This is my insurance agent, recommended to me by the famous (here at least) Kelly Newsome (Kelly is great but only writes policies in FL; she hooked me up with Monica). Monica and Allstate know all about skoolies, and you should be able to get an RV policy (liability-only until the conversion is complete).

No agent that I spoke to from any company had ever even heard of a "commercial for personal use policy" which led me to think there's no such thing in PA, but apparently some people in PA have them so I dunno.

PA can be brutal.

Check out the VT option, or consider using a neighboring state.

Thank you so much for this. I called the office and spoke to Christine who was amazing. She sorted us out in under 10 minutes with liability for just $260 for the whole year. A huge relief after getting a $1000+ quote from AAA!
