Insurance in California
Hello does anybody know an insurance agency or agent that will ensure a 1995 motor home School bus residing in California.
NGIC refusing to ensure because of it is 1995.

Find a local independent insurance agent and start there. If that does not work try AIS. They are all over southern Ca. and on line. I am afraid that insurance is going to get harder and harder to get as time goes on.

That I don't know. I have Nat Gen on my rig and it is a 1991 titled as a MH. Are you trying to get full coverage? I just bought PLPD.

Thank you for all the replies. Absolutely not I don't need full coverage. what happened is I had NGIC and stopped paying due to nonop and now they do not want to reinstate it. The excuse they're giving me is it's 1995.

Okay, now I understand. Like I posted before I think they want out of this market and are using any excuse they can. They were purchased by Allstate some time back and are making changes. Have you tried an independent agent yet? Some times they can be very creative in finding coverage.

Any ideas how to find local agent, I know some of the big ones have offices and they act like local agents but probably not them right?

Go to The General and save some time!
Seriously, General Insurance is one of the few agencies that insure skoolies.

I hear Hagertys is good about insuring older buses as they usually only do classic vehicles, which a 1995 would be at this point and have insured several people's buses. Premiums may not be the best out there but doable.
I'd try your current car insurer as many of them like to get and give multi-line discounts. State Farm is this way, but I haven't tried my luck with them yet as my bus isn't drivable at the moment, but if they don't I plan to go to the hagerty's route myself for my 1995 international.

I have Progressive Commercial for my 63 Crown Housecar. Not cheap at all at about $1380/year but I can't argue, my Crown is completely gutted and looks like an old commercial box truck for now. End to end overhaul is underway at a truck shop. I am hoping to negotiate a cheaper rate with the interior "done" someday but I don't know if they will budge when the time comes, they kind of don't have to.
