Is there Vermont Insurance companies

I presently have Progressive Commercial (Non Business) insurance via South Carolina. This week I sent my paperwork off to Vermont for RV status. Financially, it works out cheaper and easier.
I now need insurance for my Skoolie that will be registered in Vermont. Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Your insurance company - and agent - must be licensed to operate in the state where the vehicle is "legally garaged".

Vermont has no requirement that vehicles registered by them, actually be garaged there.

In fact, if the vehicle does ever go to VT, you are required to get it inspected as a motorhome there.

So most people using that VT loophole never go there, and thus should not "garage" it there or the insurance company won't have to pay out in the event of an expensive disaster

I'm in Pennsylvania with a transferable registration from VT.

North is >15 years old ---> No title.
I want to insurance and inspection for her, what are some of my options?
My state is being a Dix about this whole thing

The insurance that you have on your vehicle must be licensed to operate in the state it is garaged in. That is why you see things like State Farm of AZ. Or State Farm of CA ect. It is considered insurance fraud to buy insurance in one state and garage it in another state. This is a valid reason to deny a claim and possibility loose your license when they won’t pay. Some states have a closed loop system with the insurance companies and are notified if you drop your insurance. Then the insurance company is notified if the registration is not in the state where garaged.

Hello again. My bus is registered in VT (same deal, older than 15 years) and I have insurance with Allstate. Allstate knows I'm in PA and they don't care that the bus is registered in VT.

Allstate, the retail company we buy insurance products from, does not underwrite actual policies. The front end company can source their policies from multiple companies, even in a single state. Some may even be “competitors.”

So yes, it is perfectly possible that “Allstate retail” doesn’t care where your bus is, and is technically able to sell you a policy, and take your money. They may even just be an agent (I.e. not a party in the deal!). At the same time, “Allstate Motorhome Policy Underwriters of Idaho” (or whoever) might absolutely consider this (an out of state situation) a violation of their T’s and C’s, and therefore would not have to cover you in case of a loss.

Were you unfortunate enough to end up in an accident, they may even sue you for misrepresentation, and more. An opposing party’s insurance may sue you as well. It could ruin your life.

It is our responsibility as insurance buyers to read and understand the 10, 20 or 80 pages of legalese, provided to us by the underwriter. Not the retail company, even though they may have almost the same name.

Having bought (and paid for) an insurance product - with the documents to prove it - may get us out of a police stop.

But that does not mean we are actually insured.

Had progressive for 2 months, cancelled me, had allstate 2 years, wont renew and per Kelley Newsome, they no longer do buses.

Called foremost, no longer do buses.

Called National General, sent photos in. Photos had my Kayaks on the roof!! They asked for a photo of no kayaks on roof. Dont have one except before conversion/window instalation, and bus is up in AK (due to covid) so cant get a photo without kayaks. PLUS I would like to be insured IF one fell off!!

State Farm in VT wont do buses

60 yr family guy good credit no tickets no claims anywhere.

Just don't get in an at fault fender bender, or they'll be gunning for your driver license!

I love your description, THE HOBBY! Fits well. I will tell my kids when they are ready to MH to buy a class C and make it LOOK like a bus!!!

Insurance woes, "fancy" commercial parts to hunt down, instead of off the self parts at AUTOZONE for your E350 class C...

Apparently it’s been unprofitable for insurance companies to cover skoolies.

If they could make enough money off it, they would be having no issues.
