Well we officially have disappointing and tentative insurance, enough to get plates and enough to drive it home. Yay.

Yay. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with this, who did you end up with?

Bump on this. Who insured you in the end? This is invaluable information for the fresh folk here at skoolie.net

I know this is an old question, but it's still worth answering. Algoma Financial Group is the broker I went through to be insured by RSA Group (Royal Sun & Alliance) initially. It was expensive ($130 a month), but the broker said they will insure anything. It may be an option for those who need to move the bus across the country, or what have you.

I've since been re-insured by The Co-Operators. They even specifically mention converted buses on their website: Types of vehicles we insure.
With moving our car over to them the bus is costing us $25 per month to be insured. I can live with that

we where first with RSA for the first year of the conversion, was about $1200. a year, after the year we went to allstate, for $202.00 for the year, same coverage, keep in mind we have 2 other cars, and 2 motorcycles, and 2 houses so we get a good deal, but now I hear they don't insure skoolies anymore, I also saw bus conversions on the co-operators site, but never called them. I'm happy with allstate

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm also in Alberta and cooperators quotes $2000 for my bus. I have no idea why. Is there any other options?
