Lost my Bill of Sale, But have the title

So I purchased a vehicle and planned on going the Vermont registration route. However, I realized tonight that I lost my Bill of Sale, but still have the title signed. I think the bill of sale honestly got washed in the washing machine. Any idea of what to do? Can I recreate the Bill of Sale? I can try contacting the original seller, but I know he was in the process of moving when I purchased it.

what if you title it in your Home state and thern send a full title to vermont? you weill show as full ownership if you title it in your home state and shouldnt need a bill of sale..

That defeats the purpose for me for going through Vermont. My state has ridiculous emissions and is mostly a money grab.

you pay emissions even if you arent registering it? you title it in your home state but not register for tags.. you transfer it to Vermont for your road registration.. the 2 operations are separate.. at least in my state i can own a vehicle (title) but not register it (license plates)...

Yeah it’s all the same appointment here. We’re currently doing it for one of our cars. You can’t get it registered without emissions and inspection.

BUT! Update: I found the Bill of Sale on the floor in the car.
