Minnesota Bus Insurance and RV Registration

I have had the bus for 6 days and according to MN it is now an rv and it has insurance.

I brought my title to the registration office and filled out a little paper work selected the 16K to 18K weight class paid 250 dollars for all tax's, title fees, and registration for a year and 3 months and walked out with plates. The price is based on weight in MN and you can walk in and change your weight at anytime up or down. Of course up costs you a little more.

A few days later I tried my hand at insurance with GMAC told him it was a bus conversion. He asked proffesional or self conversion. I said did it myself. He gave me 100 300 liability for 290$ a year with 2 speeding tickets on my record.

I have been suprised and maybe a little lucky with how painless this was. After all it is still yellow with eight ways seats and a stop arm on it.

Now I can drive legally throughout the conversion.

Just thought I would share
Tony

Not wanting to burst your bubble Burl....but rex did post that back in Nov of 2012.

Things should pretty much be the same today. Does seem that having/getting just liability is easier than full coverage though.
