Check with your current insurance agent and ask if you have similar temporary coverage available for the trip home before you beat yourself up.

Just my $0.02
Do check with your agent first - my Allstate agent told me that since none of my other vehicles were commercial, I would have to establish my commercial for private use policy prior to the drive home. Good news is the rates were reasonable. Crossing my fingers for the proverbial 90 day wait to see if they cancel.

So i call my State Farm agent now that I own a bus to find out if I can save a couple hundred dollars and drive it home on the " new purchase coverage" clause. He says "You sure are, 7 days, why, did you buy a Ferrari.?" I say "No, a school bus, need to insure it from OKC. to home is all."
"School bus you say." he says, "need to check with the underwriters on that one."

So I'm waiting to hear back from them.
