Registration and title transfer VT-> NJ

Hey, after reading quite a bit about the registration process, it seems that the best option is to register my skoolie is in Vermont.
I would like to transfer the title eventually to NJ, however that's not going to be possible without having an inspection.

did anyone have a similar experience? The skoolie drives well but is still under the conversion process (outside is done)

Will I be able to bring the skoolie to a private inspector to receive a Vehicle Inspection Report (for a safety inspection) or will I be required to comply with the motorhome inspection requirements :

1: No seats ( passenger seats must be removed)
2: No emergency lighting ( the alternating blinkers and articulated stop sign have to go)
3: Repaint ( bus can no longer be yellow and all signs that say school or school bus must be removed)
4: Permanent bed must be installed
5: permanent sink must be installed
6: permanent stove or cooktop must be installed

Wait until the conversion is complete, in the sense of those minimum requirements.

Definition of "permanent" will be where the leeway lies.

I'd suggest you check on insurance before you do anything more on your bus. I'm in NJ and am trying to find a policy now. So far I've been told multiple times that only professional conversions are insurable in NJ now. I take it that applies whether your bus meets the state's definition of an RV or not.
