Advice….ok, first thing you need to do is relax, you got a-bus a now excitement is over the edge…
LoL…

Your so excited that you forgot to tell us what state you are in. Each state has different procedures and rules!

Instead of wasting time and effort dealing with the DMV here, I instead used a private vehicle registration service to change my bus's initial registration of AUTO (BU) to the much-needed MH. The company's owner saw that I had completed enough of the required interior changes to justify its new title, and she took a few photos to substantiate the change. I paid her money, and a few weeks later I had my new Pink Slip. Easy!

The impetus for my doing this was because CARB had placed a hold on re-registering my bus in California due to it being non-compliant, and at the time only Motorhomes were exempt from their restrictions. However, the rules have recently changed again, and not for the better...

I am in Florida so the only help I can offer is this thread from 2012 that speaks to your question.

I hope you find it useful.

What are the steps here in Florida? I know “homebuilt” trailers are super easy to have registered, what all goes into getting a bus registration converted to RV here?
