Vermont registration?

Hello beautiful people,

I am currently working to register my bus in Vermont and am in need of advice.

I bought a 1990 CHEV bus from an individual in Michigan. I currently live in Chicago, IL (LAND OF HIGH TAXES) and plan to hold my mailing address/drivers license address here in Chicago. I was given the title and a written bill of sale. It IS already registered as a motorhome on the title. and lastly I have did not pay sales tax with the purchase of the bus.

My questions are:
- since it is over 15 years old, how does this play into my registering?
- any benefit to this already being registered as a motorhome?
- lastly what are the major cons to registering in Vermont vs Chicago?
BECAUSE THE PRICE IS DEFINITELY RIGHT!

I read the thread below, the whole thing, and some other threads here about Vermont registration. The one below is the one I followed to register my bus in Vermont. Once I read through it, understood it and spent some time on the Vermont DMV site looking at the forms I needed to complete I was ready. It was fairly easy, and when I filled out the Vermont forms I specified motor home and that's what's on my Vermont registration.

Just remember, Vermont wants your money so they don't want it to be too difficult to do.
