What’s the update on insurance

So here we go once more
I have insurance at 275 $ per month
Commercial Bus
I’m getting a new bus to build
So who has real info ,not hear say
On cheep insurance. I’ll move if I have to
So what state has the best deal for us bus
dwellers ?
Has it gotten any easer since my last time
A most upsetting time that was to find out
you bought a bus and NO one will insurer it

Varies tremenously by state, so post yours in the title

Find a sympathetic experienced agent

I am in Washington State and found registering as an RV is pretty straightforward. My insurance is currently $175 for 6 months. It will go down significantly when the conversion is completed.

So maybe change the title to

What are the cheapest states to insure a xxxx?

Once you've narrowed it down, ask for reco's of good agents.

And also say what sort of insurance, just minimum liability, or more?

Check out the registering in VT by mail option, no need to actually go there.

Too many varibles to answer the question. Your driving history can greatly effect rates. I have found State Farm to be cheaper by far than any other company. Full comp/coll. for $303/yr. Basic liability would be $93/yr.
State Farm, unfortunately will not insure it during the conversion. My agent called this morning to tell me they needed no documentation in videos orpics of the build, just need me to sign one affidavit. He had warned me to go buy some vaseline as they would want vidios up the arse.

Great example of how different things can be between states, carriers etc.

I have carried all of my insurance through State Farm. Great rates and awesome service. Until.... I bought a small house in Kansas. Two bedrooms, just over 1000 sq.ft..

State Farm quoted almost double what their competition quoted. We had to go with the other carrier. I am paying more for coverage on that house than I am on my 2100sq.ft house in WA.

Lots of variables. Call your local independent brokers and the dedicated agents in your area. They are the ones with the answers.

Not surprised to hear NYC is expensive...
Don't move to Washington DC either!

Decide where you wanna relocate to -- then research threads on those states...
Read the other posts here titled asking for insurance in specific states --
When someone shares their success stories -- and I've read a bunch here -- follow up on those recommendations!

Or, if you're willing to choose your legal domicile anywhere just to get cheaper vehicle insurance, this TN/GA thread may be helpful

How old are you and what sort of driving history?
I'd probably just get out of this hobby if I had to pay nearly 300 a month.

I quit paying for home insurance when it went up to 1100 a year lol.
I guess that's cheaper than 300 a month.

I just meant, if you have no other housing costs then you've got more room for the monthly total nut on bus running costs
