City parking

Hi all. I was curious if there is any good ideas/recs on where I can safely park my Skoolie on outskirts of major cities. I’m traveling with my family and for example we will be arriving to San Franciso in a couple weeks. We will rent an airbnb for a few days and I prefer to park outside of the city and just Uber in and around while we are there. Is there a good place to look I or outside of cities to leave my bus for a few days…?

last time in california.... i was scared to take my rig into sanfran.

prices get crazy high the closer you get. i settled on Cloverdale as being as close as i could afford. i paid for a couple of night there and drove to the city.... 100 miles maybe.

its tough in cities.. parking for a few hours is no issue where I live.. I often park my busses in shopping centers and then come back to retrieve it later.. overnighting might be more difficult as cities and suburbs are trying to combat crime.. some of which involves people in box trucks or RV's trying to steal.. so it can get a bit harder.. most malls have security that cruises around.. walmart used to be a nice place to park. but many of them now dont like overnighters anymore.. the store near me had issues with semi drivers dumping their trash backs and "trucker bombs" on the parking lot so they have gotten tougher.. california gets even harder as many "homeless" live in run down RV's and try to park them on streets or shopping centers...
